Its quite unique in a combination of mechanics, colorful and generally pleasant to play. Though, its lacks depth and complexity, no difficulty levels and it could definitely have interesting pvp matches, but those are negative sides of it. Still nice one to get on sale.
Fun and cute. Speed is a lot more important than the footage suggests. Tactical, yes, but quick dominance is the best tactic. TO THE STARS!
A really fun and small games, it takes less than a minute to go through the tutorial and understand the mechanics before trying over and over to conquer the world!
a lot of fun for a while but sorta gets repetitive would love to see updates for this that add more maps and more upgrades
Full of charm, clever design, and interesting choices. It seems simple at the start, but layers on tons of interesting ideas and features as you get through the tutorial so that you have a greater appreciation for the core mechanics. This is an easy buy for any RTS/tactics fans!
I find the characters, art, and especially the general vibe, very charming. There's no real build depth, but a surprising amount of emergent tactical depth in the moment-to-moment gameplay, which I find really fun! The rogue-lite structure of the game is currently a very light wrapper around the game, so I wouldn't recommend this to anyone looking for theory/buildcrafting elements. There is also, thankfully, no meta progression besides starting character unlocks. However, the core idea is actually deceptively deep. The moment-to-moment gameplay feels like a casual/simplified 4X board game, except realtime-with-pause instead of turn-based. EDIT: Just want to jump back in to celebrate some genuinely awesome community engagement from this developer. I posted a discussion explaining that ~20 hrs in, a specific mechanic (planet explosions destroying ships) was making the game a lot less fun for me, and an option to disable it would improve the experience. A few folks agreed with me, and a month later, that exact change, (even down to the way I framed it in the post) has been added as a toggle-able option. They didn't get defensive about their game design, they didn't imply 'git gud' as so many developers often do. They just read that a few folks didn't like one of the mechanics, and said "No problem, we'll just give you a button to turn that off." Totally awesome Dev, worth celebrating.
Tactical and cute.
Ones to definetely play this August.
Really quick and decisive skirmish game with simple, but deceptively complex mechanics. Really liking it a lot!.
To the Stars patří mezi hry, které jsou malé ve všech smyslech toho slova. Je jednoduchá grafikou i hratelností, jednotlivé levely trvají pár minut a jde přesně o ten typ titulu, co si zapnete, když si chcete ještě chvíli před ulehnutím do postele něco krátce zahrát. Jen pak hrozí, že po mnoha příslibech typu „ještě jeden level a dost“ nakonec půjdete spát někdy nad ránem.
