Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 2.29/day in the week to Aug 25 → 3/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,515 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 24: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

i've enjoyed borderlands 1-3 and i like D&D, fantasy settings, etc so this seemed right up my alley, and it was! I had fun casting and blastin. i'm sure you can beat this in under 40hrs, i got lost in some side quest/alternate area content. there are quite a lot of side quests if you want to go that route. as a tip (for pc at least): 'm' to open your map, 'f' to open world map, and then you can scroll to highlight different regions/zones, click or hit enter on the highlighted zone to bring up the specific region map with spawn/teleportation markers. this let's you teleport to any area you've visited. i'm an idiot and somehow missed this feature until the very end of the game... up until then, i would hit 'm' and only see 'brighthoof' as a global teleport option and then i'd run back to whatever zone i was working on... oof. anyways, if hurling magic while shooting borderland type guns and tweaking your character stats, skills, etc, and spamming class abilities (necro, mage, barb, etc) sounds fun then i'd say give it a try. a good 8/10 for me

really cool world and characters
the grind is what i have come to expect from the borderland games. that being said it wont be for everyone, some of you might not the humor or the skill trees or any number of things about it. i personally think that the dual class is a wonderful touch.
Short version (Spoiler free): Buy only on large sale
6/10 The game is ok but pales in comparison with other Borderlands entries. It has a mediocre story that feels lacklustre. It also introduced concepts of which some are fun, some quickly overstay their welcome, and others are underdeveloped. The game's premise of D&D with guns is interesting and fun. It changes the narrative in a unique way. There are also some jokes and humour which were funny. The newly introduced weapons were unique, albeit with too little variety. However, that is pretty much also the only positive thing I could think of in this game. None of the characters, including the villain, are interesting, nor are they actually really present or explored. In fact, they are all forgettable, and the same goes for the boss enemies. The story is short, with very few missions. There are some other areas, but they also do not contain many missions, nor do they impact the world, and they feel completely disconnected from the story. The world itself looks nice, with some interesting environments, but here too there is too little diversity. This is exacerbated by the lack of enemy variety. Endgame content does not really exist, as looting is almost non-existent, nor is the loot even worth it, nor is looting in this game even fun. There is also no true Vault Hunter mode. The DLC, or PLC as they call them, cannot be described as anything other than a pure scam. For a combined price of 40 euro, or 20 with the season pass, you get 4 arenas, which are sold separately. Each arena has time-gated events which counter the very core of Borderlands, fast action and high-adrenaline fighting. Even with the time-gated events, they are extremely short, in the range of only 10 to 15 minutes per arena. Even worse is that there is already an arena present in the base game which is better by a huge margin. Note, these arenas do not even add new enemies or environments. They are just a rehash of already existing base game assets. The game contains, in my opinion, anti-consumer practices. Such as these DLC, but also certain achievements which are an unreasonable time sink and game design which artificially extends playtime without providing any actual content. It also has quite a lot of political messaging, or DEI, that it pushes right into your face. The game also does have quite a lot of bugs. These include a lot of invisible walls in sections where you have to parkour, subtitles that keep repeating until you reset the game, or the game outright closing itself, which happened between 20 and 30 times for me. So overall, this game gets a 6 out of 10 from me. I can recommend it only when it's on sale for at least 80%, as it is simply not worth its full price. The DLC should be avoided completely, and even for free they would not be worth it. Legitimately, Oblivion horse armour was worth more than this. The game has some fun concepts but did not explore them, and it also added a lot of other stuff which was annoying. In general, it gave the impression that the developers do not understand what made Borderlands, Borderlands, and as a result produced a forgettable game.
Long version (SPOILERS AHEAD)

Graphics
Relatively little can be said about the graphics. They were fine and like every other Borderlands game. They had some nice designs for the world and enemies.
Story
The story was very underwhelming, yet it was one of the game's strongest points. It starts off interestingly with the release of the Dragon Lord and the death of Butt Stallion, but quickly gets boring and uninspiring. None of the characters are really interesting, nor do they experience growth or any character development for that matter. The villain is kind of taunting you during the entire game, but not in any fun or interesting way, and in the end you kind of just find out his motive is simply that he is evil. Furthermore, not just the villain is uninspiring, every boss enemy is forgettable and the looting system reinforces this. Also, the way humour is used in this game ruins a lot of the story. They try to build up a more serious and emotional moment, but then they throw in some joke, which is more often a miss than a hit, and it just takes you out of the moment. Also, the story is short with just 11 chapters and can be finished within just a few hours. There are also very few side quests, let alone meaningful side quests, although there were some exceptions.
World
The world itself has some interesting designs, but there is just so little of it. The levels also feel too streamlined, with very little opportunity for exploration. Also, since all of them are designed around missions, most sections will be blocked off until you start that mission. Moreover, as they are mission related, you have already explored an entire area by the moment you have completed these missions. There is one hub place/city, but you barely visit it and only return to it to upgrade SDUs or go to the bank storage. They added the "Overworld", which is this game's highway system to connect the various areas to each other using a D&D themed board game. The concept was fun and unique, but quickly overstayed its welcome and became bothersome due to mini-dungeons and random encounters.
Gameplay
The gameplay was similar to other Borderlands games. They added medieval themed weapons which were fun and unique, as well as adding actual melee weapons. However, the weapons felt underwhelming and there was little diversity. They replaced grenades with spells, which was actually a great addition and felt satisfying to use. The game heavily relied on arenas, as random encounters, mini-dungeons, Mirror DLCs, and Chaos Chambers were all arenas. The problem with these arenas, however, was that they were simply not fun. They reused the same areas a lot, with the same kinds of enemies, and were relatively badly designed. Yet you will visit these arenas at least 50 times. Another problem was looting. In this game, you no longer farm bosses. Instead, you have Chaos Chambers where you collect crystals which you can then use on a "bunny", which is basically a vending machine, to pop out exactly the category of items or weapons you want. This looting system completely disconnected loot from the world, and as a result you will not revisit areas nor associate any boss with a special orange weapon. Furthermore, the actual oranges present were bad. Most were joke references and almost all of them were outclassed by purple gear instead.
General and DLC
This game is quite heavy on political messaging and it is also right in your face, which takes you out of the immersion. The DLC, as earlier mentioned, were for me a straight up scam. Both the price and description of the DLC indicated that it would be some actual narrative adventure. Instead, you got 4 arenas, which are 4 separate DLC for 10 euro each, with 6 rooms each. The first 5 rooms were often time-gated events where you were literally waiting for a minecart to roll, or enemies to spawn so you could actually advance. The 6th was a boss enemy. Arena is used here sparingly, as most of the time you had at most 4 enemies around you. So besides costing a lot, they were a complete waste of time, even though they took only around 10 to 15 minutes per arena to finish. They are also of lower quality than the Chaos Chamber, which is included in the base game. Game performance is also not the best, as it crashed often, had bugged subtitles, or had invisible walls in locations that obviously were intended for parkouring.
Verdict
The game had some fun moments and was functional, hence I would give it a 6/10, but I cannot recommend the game at full price. At most, I can recommend it at an 80% discount. It had some interesting concepts, but they are not explored or developed enough, especially not at the price it was offered for. Better play any of the other Borderlands games.
