I'm outraged that not more people know this game. It may not be the longest game, but I had so much fun. The characters and story are well written and the game looks super pretty too. And you also have to consider that this game is only made by one person! Even though the work put into the game is worth the price, I can understand why it might be off-putting. Get it on sale otherwise, because I can only recommend the game.
entertaining game, reminded me of old classic adventures, except it is not as difficult as they used to be
About the Game;
It starts with an amazing intro, which some AA studio's could learn something from. Then it starts with the cutscene's and the game itself. This is more warm and colorful. And it sets the tone of the rest of the game. You follow tiny and Tall as they receive the mission to make an unbreakable chain. Why? Play the game ;) It is mostly a click & point game, where you play as tiny and have to collect items. Of course you can combine some items and tiny needs to solves puzzles to prolong the adventure and finish your tasks. Roughly midgame you get the option to play as Tall as well, and the switching between the two has a very easy mechanic. The game is not as easy as you might think from the get go, but it gives enough clues to keep it fun if you need them.
For those that care about the Steam Achievements;
Number of Achievements : 9 Offline / Online : 9 / 0 Easiness of getting : 4/5, some are missable so a second play through might be needed. Rough time estimate : 2 hours Any particular difficulties : None, some missable ones, but none to difficult. Overall : The game itself is worth it to play and enjoy. With some of the steam guides you can get all the achievements in 1 game in less then 2 hours, so good and fast.
For those that care about the Steam Trading Cards;
Number of cards : has 5 Trading Cards. How quick are they unlocking : I had all 3 free cards within 90 min of playing time. Quality of Art style : The art style of the trading cards is good. It shows 5 different characters from the game. And they seem to be made specially for the cards. Quality of Badges : Nothing to fancy, but each level improves the hammer. The foilcards hand you a Mjolnir hammer badge. Availability of Trading Cards on the Market : At time of writing the availability varies between 7 and 24 cards. The cards are cheap, range between 0.07 and 0.14 euros at this moment. Overall : 5/5 You get the first 3 cards fast, and for your first badge you only need 2 more. These are limited, but cheap on the market, and a boosterpack costs 1200 gems.
Protagonists' relationship is way too toxic for me to truly enjoy this game and the fact that it's only half of the story adds insult to injury. But still, the humor is humoring, and It could have been a good game if only it was complete, or it a smaller part of it was released as a demo instead. As things look like now, very unlikely it will ever be complete, and that is the main reason for "not recommend". However, I promise to change my review if Part 2 ever comes out.
bad game

What an amazing experience! The art and animation are fantastic, and the story is both funny and captivating. I love the mix of humor and Norse mythology – it’s a combination that works surprisingly well. The puzzles are creative and satisfying without being too frustrating, and the characters have a lot of personality. If you're into old-school point-and-click adventures, tiny & tall is a perfect pick. Highly recommend it!
tiny & Tall: Gleipnir – Part One is a point-and-click adventure that offers a fresh and humorous take on Norse mythology while embracing the spirit of classic adventure games. Developed by tT Studios and published by Plug In Digital, it puts players in the shoes of two unlikely blacksmiths tasked with forging the legendary chain Gleipnir, the unbreakable tether meant to restrain the great wolf Fenrir. What makes the game instantly stand out is its commitment to lighthearted storytelling and its hand-drawn presentation, which together create an experience that feels both nostalgic and original. The narrative follows Tiny and Tall, a mismatched pair of blacksmiths who stumble into an absurd contract with the gods. Their task is seemingly impossible: collect bizarre ingredients like the roots of a mountain, the sound of a cat’s footstep, or the beard of a woman, and use them to craft a chain capable of binding a godlike beast. The absurdity of the quest is central to the charm of the game, as it provides endless opportunities for humor and clever problem-solving. Tiny’s innocent optimism and Tall’s grumpy pragmatism balance one another perfectly, making them both likable and amusing companions to spend time with. The cast of secondary characters, from mischievous tricksters to eccentric villagers, adds even more personality to the world. Visually, the game is a treat. The hand-drawn environments are richly detailed, with forests, swamps, mountains, and mythic locales brought to life in a whimsical, almost storybook style. The color palette is earthy yet vibrant, evoking a sense of myth and folklore while remaining playful. Animations, though not overly complex, contain small expressive flourishes that enhance the mood, and character designs are exaggerated in ways that emphasize their personalities. The visual direction ensures that each location feels distinct and that the game is consistently engaging to look at, even during slower stretches of exploration. The gameplay sticks closely to the traditions of the genre, focusing on exploration, dialogue, and puzzle-solving. Most puzzles revolve around combining inventory items, interpreting clues from conversations, or experimenting with unusual interactions in the environment. At their best, the puzzles are clever and rewarding, pushing players to think laterally without feeling unfair. However, some solutions lean heavily on whimsical logic that may not be immediately intuitive, which can create moments of trial and error. Fortunately, the game includes a hint system that prevents progress from stalling entirely, though puzzle purists may choose to avoid it. Humor and writing play a huge role in keeping the experience enjoyable. The dialogue is filled with witty exchanges, tongue-in-cheek jokes, and situational comedy that emerges naturally from the personalities of the protagonists and the ridiculousness of their quest. While the game is not fully voice-acted, the written lines are sharp enough to carry the humor on their own. The playful tone ensures that even when puzzles become a little frustrating, the story and characters remain engaging enough to encourage perseverance. In terms of technical performance, tiny & Tall: Gleipnir – Part One is smooth and accessible. It runs well on modest systems, with no significant bugs or crashes to detract from the experience. The interface is straightforward, with intuitive controls for exploring, selecting items, and interacting with objects in the environment. While there are minor issues like unclear hotspots or occasional translation quirks, these are relatively small drawbacks in an otherwise polished presentation. The game’s pacing is steady, offering a mix of exploration, puzzle-solving, and narrative moments that prevent monotony. Some players may find the overall length a little shorter than they would prefer, as the adventure comes to a close just as it feels like the characters are hitting their stride. However, the compact design also ensures that the story does not overstay its welcome, and it leaves room for anticipation of future installments. Overall, tiny & Tall: Gleipnir – Part One succeeds in delivering a whimsical, funny, and visually striking adventure that pays homage to the point-and-click classics while injecting its own unique personality. Its blend of Norse mythology with absurd humor creates a memorable backdrop, and its mismatched duo of heroes are endearing enough to carry the experience. Though it has a few rough edges in puzzle design and pacing, it remains a highly enjoyable game for fans of the genre and anyone who appreciates a lighthearted, story-driven journey. It’s a strong beginning that leaves players eager to see where the series will go next. Rating: 9/10
Very nostalgic inducing and puzzling point and click. A guide is almost *needed* due to the difficulties at some points, but there are in game hints and lots of community made guides. I hope another does come out in the future, as this was a very charming experience.
