absolutely loved this game, i was also happy it worked on my steam deck. there were parts were i was laughing out loud. cant wait for part 2!
Puzzles are obscure and time consuming. It is a nice media product, but not a good game. Annoying of the bad kind.
Beautiful and quite simple point and click with beautiful art and funny story.
Very, very nice game. The writing is exceptionally good and the puzzles are extremely satisfying to solve, albeit quite simple. On the flip side, there is no voice acting. I sincerely hope I'll play parts II and III someday.
-Technical issues with the resolution on game launch -Achievement system that disincentivises you from using the hint and qol systems in the game -Hidden achievement that requires you to not talk to a character (and no way of knowing this unless you look it up and restart the game) -Somehow manages to have puzzles that are simple and yet frustrating at the same time -Music is banging though. Would rather just listen to that then waste time playing this.
Amazing well thought out game. Hilarious too as bonus. One of the best point and click games I recently played. Can't wait for Part 2.
Gleipnir Part 1 is a short, enjoyable point-and-click adventure with simple gameplay and a fun story. The highlights are the art, writing, and characters. Some lines genuinely made me laugh. I liked grumpy, grounded Tall and naive, optimistic tiny. They make a great pair. The lack of voice acting is a miss, though the game works fine without it. Even small voice-like sounds would help. If you enjoyed Lost in Play, you might like this too, though it’s not as polished.
Protagonists' relationship is way too toxic for me to truly enjoy this game and the fact that it's only half of the story adds insult to injury. But still, the humor is humoring, and It could have been a good game if only it was complete, or it a smaller part of it was released as a demo instead. As things look like now, very unlikely it will ever be complete, and that is the main reason for "not recommend". However, I promise to change my review if Part 2 ever comes out.
I'm outraged that not more people know this game. It may not be the longest game, but I had so much fun. The characters and story are well written and the game looks super pretty too. And you also have to consider that this game is only made by one person! Even though the work put into the game is worth the price, I can understand why it might be off-putting. Get it on sale otherwise, because I can only recommend the game.
