Tin & Kuna is a fun 3D platformer where you roll around. You have to put balls on platforms in order to complete a level and you can collect three diamons in each level. You also get a medal for completing a level without getting hurt and one for completing the level in a specific time.
Having played what I assume is roughly 20% of the game I can safely say that the steady steam of new mechanics is refreshing and keeps me learning new approaches to the levels.Sound design and music is on point, being whimsical and funny.Platforming controls are tight and takes little time to get use to.The art style is in the sweet spot that works for children and adults and so is the difficulty level. All in all a solid experience that is recommended for platforming enthusiasts.
I am loving this game so far! Don't get fooled by the cute looks of it, this game is HARD!It starts slow, teaching you the ropes, and picks up from there to some merciless jumping puzzles that will get you rage quitting and getting back right away!Lets break this down:What's the game about? You are a armadillo-like character that rolls in a ball to get around, with some power, like dashing, stomping, all the platforming goodies, and you can get some special powers from crystal pylons that are scattered around the game, those can make you jump higher, burn stuff, magnetize stuff, etc.Your goal is to roll some orbs to their correct places while avoiding hell in the way...pool fans will feel at home as your are hitting a ball with another ball.Graphics: It looks gorgeous! It's a colorful world that makes me want to have a plush toy of every single character and enemy from the game! It's an unique world with it's own charm! This won't let you wanting!Gameplay: The controllers are on point. It is hard to make the balls do what you want in at first, but you get the hang of it.The levels are creative and VERY challenging. There are time attack, no damage and collect all medals that will have you coming back previous levels as you get better and feel you can beat the time or obstacles, which increase the replayability of the game, always a nice touch. Some times death seems unfair but well, what difficult game doesn't suffer from this a bit...Audio: I love it, but I like up beat songs, and this is filled with them.Overall, I love the game, it has a lot for the price!
How has this Game been out over 2 years and only gotten 4 Steam User Reviews!? It's good, play it.
Really great game. One of those easy to learn but hard to master gems. Challenges will make you wan to replay each phase to the best score. Lovely and fun characters and smart game design. A light hearted experience for everyone!
It's not bad but definitely has some problems. The platforming is really solid and has tight controls, isn't slippery at all. Sometimes the camera can be finnicky and screw you over but its less often than you'd expect in a 3d game. The power jump and power dash are way too problematic and not well designed. If you jump .5 seconds after a dash you get an extra free jump that you don't get right after, but its not always consistent and never properly explained. Also after a power jump you don't get a second jump nor a dash for no apparent reason at all. The game is tough, but relatively fair except for a few levels and the final boss. The game is more puzzle than platformer, which can be a bit of a letdown. You have to roll a bunch of balls into holes to finish levels, which can be finnicky bc youre a rolling ball and theyre rolling balls, which don't really mesh sometimes. Also nobody likes an escort mission. There are some levels where there are balls but you get to the end and just push them in, and these levels are much more fun. Its also kind of lame each level is just a bunch of random floating platforms in air, making the game feel less like a real world and more like an obstacle course. Also every boss being just a chase/timed obstacle course with no room for mistakes, making them mostly trial and error and not fun at all. Having levels and worlds and the final boost being locked behind secret collectibles is pretty dumb, as they should just be for achievements or cosmetics, and this is done to pad out the game length. Theres also basically no story. But over its not bad, just a mediocre platformer that should have done less with the puzzles and the ball moving, and more actual platforming. 7/10.
Very underrated, under-purchased, and under-reviewed game. Lots of fun as a puzzle platformer with a limited but very creative suite of movement options. Had a lot of fun figuring out the puzzles and doing the time trials. I love finding unintended ways to plow through levels, and this game allowed that excellently. The game did have a little glitchiness with the camera flashing, the switch port loaded very slowly (which forced me to buy the Steam version), and parts of the game didn't feel fully finished or flushed out (Bosses were less interactive than the rest, Level 11 seemed to have no intended route to completion)
