This is to all of those people who couldn't give a damn about the fancy graphics and other pretty ♥♥♥♥! This game has a solid story line and gameplay but on the other hand does have horrible dialogue but who cares right? Maybe the best combat system I've seen in a while for a an 3rd Person RPG, sweet magic academies which go from alchemy magic for those who want to look like an insect like thing to air magic to those of you who want to be an over powered bad ass runnin' around zapping people into meatballs. The rest you should find out without me talkin' about this. Solid game, get it !
I feel if they could release dawn of magic 3 and added modding, i'd play it forever.. I'm just sad cus the only thing that was wrong with the first game and this one is the very limited item system. If i just added a few hundred unique items, sets and rune combos, the game would be amazing.. This could be done in 2 weeks of modding with games like titan quest and it'd make the game nearly perfect. I'm sad they didn't release the source but i heard how complicated and sometimes impossible the law makes it. Just bitterness and nostalgia honestly. Killing mobs in this game was insanely fun, the only thing lacking was the rewards. There is 1 staff i think it is lvl 10, and it's the best staff in the game for some reason. Probably cus they stopped there and didn't add any higher level better staffs? Another problem was that merchants could have unique items sold, and re-loading town to check merchants for unique items was best way to farm them. All easily fixed with modding. This is why i'm so sad. It feels like a cake has a tiny piece of poop on it and i'm not allowed to pull that piece of poop off to enjoy the cake. EDIT: Modding is possible for both games! I made a guide already on here too!
Why did I ever buyed it? Dammit.
This game will break on a dual monitor setup and has nasty load times every time you alt tab out of it. The gameplay itself is a mess with wide areas in which enemies will spawn randomly and pick fights with NPCS. Even important ones like merchants will just run off into the wilderness chasing blindly after enemies, dying somehwere in no mans land. This erratic NPC and enemy behaviour will turn into chaotic mass brawls whenever a quest spawns opponents in a city. Not that it would become any better out in the wilderness, as the randomly spawning enemies will make sure that even then every single encounter is a mess. The one stand out gimmick that magic you learn affecting the stats and the looks of your character is a neat idea, but ultimately pointless. The bonusses are sometimes utterly pointless-like having a reduced death penalty. In a game that has a hardcore mode. Those changes also come coupled with heavy downsides that usually have a higher negative impact than any advantage you might gain. Spells are on a global cooldown so you will usually see yourself spamming your standard attack spell over and over again until your enemies keel over. I can not recommend going into melee comabt at any point. TL;DR; This game is a mess. Avoid it.
Calling this game a travesty is doing a disservice to travesties everywhere.
Changing review from positive to negative. After you kill first boss - you will experience significant difficulty spike. Every mob will have ranged homing attacks that you cant avoid, can summon minions, pretty tanky and hit very hard. You will get burned through all your potions and cant progress further. DO. NOT. BUY.
Do not buy this game. It is buggy, glitchy and the gameplay is not well thought out. They even go so far as not removing the wrong takes from the actors lines...
this game gave me some confused about story and gameplay but anyway I still it very reasonable RPG with heavy- magic style
