Interesting game that should offer more, and its simplicity and lack of narrative closure might leave players unsatisfied. The game greets you with silence and mystery. There’s no story, no briefing, not even a hint at what you’re supposed to do. You hit “Start Game,” and suddenly, you’re guiding a floating orb over a shimmering sea filled with tiny islands like. The minimalist art style is decent—clear blue waters stretch endlessly beneath you, broken only by the occasional island topped with a hovering, disc-shaped saucer. These flying saucers aren’t your enemies, but rather your guides. Each saucer pulls you in with a gentle beam, transporting you to the ground below where the real game begins. Once you touch down, the gameplay shifts to a puzzle-platformer where your mission is to find the dark humanoid figures lost on each island and guide them to the exit. No text or narration spells it out; you figure it out through pure experimentation. The game’s standout mechanic is a time-shifting button that toggles between two timelines. In the first, you see a lush, vibrant world of blue waters and green life. Flip to the second timeline, and you find a bleak, desolate version of the same landscape—trees withered away, water levels lowered, and life stripped bare. This timeline-swapping is essential for solving the various island puzzles. Trees that block your path in one world are gone in the other. Lowered water levels reveal new walkable surfaces, ice sheets, or hidden pathways. Some islands even introduce unique elements like bombs hinting at some catastrophic event or seeds that grow into trees when the worlds shift. Your objective on each island is straightforward: collect cube keys to open doors leading to exit portals where you bring the missing people. Your character’s abilities are limited to sprinting, and death, whether from falling into water or being attacked, is more of a slap on the wrist than a punishment. You respawn almost instantly at the last checkpoint with all your progress intact, making it a very forgiving experience. Combat is a non-issue thanks to your curious trio of companions. A fish and two others accompany you throughout your journey, automatically dealing with any red threat that crosses your path. They don’t die, run out of ammo, or ever get lost—no matter when you decide to swap timelines, they’re always right by your side. If there’s a criticism to be had, it’s the game’s simplicity. The puzzles are mostly intuitive, and there’s never a true sense of danger. Clearing each island takes only a few minutes, and there are no surprises. The game ends with little fanfare, offering no explanation or resolution. It feels incomplete, and like the game was meant to be bigger. The final part is a unique secret. Each stage contains a semi-hidden cube inscribed with a QR code. Scan it, and you’re directed to a Wikipedia page detailing real-world mysteries and unexplained phenomena. It offers an interesting view on unknown events.
Why I enjoyed playing Time Flipper: Self discovering of the game world and mechanics. Pure gameplay, without "another boring fantasy narrative" interrupting your experience. The game pace. I don't have a lot of time for games, so I appreciate a how you can play it in short sessions and easily re-taking it anytime. A nice audiovisual trip. I liked the feel of living environment and the colorful lighting, the crazy characters... Also the electronic music soundtrack is amazing. I'd like to see more content in the future, with new and more challenging levels, but I can say it's worth more than its price imo,
Time Flipper is that rare gem that makes you feel like a time-genius. One second, you're stuck; the next, you flip time, and BOOM! New paths, new solutions, new surprises. It’s like Portal met Prince of Persia and had a baby raised on sci-fi movies. The art style is bizarre in the best way. Surreal, trippy, and weirdly beautiful. Every flip between timelines feels like stepping into another dimension, and it just works. If you love games that mess with your head in a good way and make you feel like a time-traveling mastermind, this one is a must-play.
¡Totalmente recomendado!
Great game! Relaxing, funny and good music! Just one dev! Congrats
Great game, nice visuals, nice soundtrack, let the player discover everything by himself. Very interesting ideas, it really has an atmosphere of its own!
