Timberman: The Big Adventure:
English:

Timberman: The Big Adventure: a tribute to a classic with good highlights but obvious flaws
Timberman is a retro-style 2D platformer that combines classic gameplay elements with some innovative design. One of the game's main highlights is its variety and good difficulty curve, factors that add a lot of charm to the experience. However, the game suffers from some shortcomings in terms of incentivizing players to explore, as all non-automatic game progression achievements can be completed in the first level, which can lead to a lack of motivation in exploring the game's content. The game could have been more engaging if collecting everything would have resulted in an achievement. Though the game's verticality and co-op mode may require special attention from the player. Some technical issues may be encountered during co-op, such as the nullification of wooden platforms or the random activation of long spiked traps, which may affect the game's smoothness and experience. Nonetheless, the game is relatively forgiving, which allows players to respawn their partners through small bubbles, with only simultaneous deaths resulting in loss of life. Timberman pays homage to classic 2D platformers such as Donkey Kong Country in its game design, for example through character special abilities and collection mechanics. However, some of the design choices can feel a bit odd, such as the unused coins or checkpoint setups. There are some issues with the game's controls and level design that may affect the replay value and overall experience, especially on the PC port. In summary, Timberman offers a fun co-op and challenging experience, especially for those who enjoy retro-style 2D platformers. While the game has room for improvement in some areas, its unique design elements and co-op mode are still worth checking out.
Timberman: The Big Adventure
Przyjemna platformówka ze znanym drwalem! :D
This is a fun retro-style, 2-D platformer. However, all of the non-automatic game progression achievements can be obtained in the first level so it does not really motivate you to spend time with the game and explore. I did not find myself attempting to 100% the collectibles. The game would be more engaging if achievements were awarded for collecting everything. Instead I found myself breezing through levels after the 1st few achievements. Or perhaps, an in-game store, so collecting things motivated you to buy character costumes or weapons or something. To my knowledge no secret levels or anything are unlocked for collecting things. The game has some variety to it and a good difficulty curve... both things I appreciate.
My Experience Although I usually don't play 2D platformers in single-player, I did think that Timberman could be fun to play with a friend using Steam's Remote Play Together feature. We had a good time overall, although the verticality of the levels in Timberman made it imperative for me to pay close attention. The first player can literally jump or move so far away from the second player that they are left off-screen to die. However, this isn't the only rough aspect of playing the game in co-op - there are wooden platforms that disintegrate into nothingness after being used, and sometimes players must jump between a number of these in succession. As your co-op partner follows you through these jumps, they'll find that there are no platforms for them to use. Luckily, the game is very forgiving. As long as both players don't die at once, the surviving character can punch a small bubble that appears beside them to respawn their partner. Overall player lives only seem to be lost when both players die at once. At the same time, I wouldn't say that the game is very difficult. The most difficult section appears in level 3-4 when a long spike trap in the floor (below a red pipe) appears to be haphazardly activated. We somehow traversed this section after a few tries, but were unable to make any sense out of how and when these spikes were activated (if there was even a pattern). You can see this for yourself at 1:21:20 in Zhain Gaming's Let's Play of the game on YouTube. The only other major difficulty was in activating switches with your thrown weapon - sometimes the opening through which you needed to throw your weapon was far too narrow. I loved some of the game's homages to my favorite 2D platformer series, SNES' Donkey Kong Country. The ability of Timberman and the bear to float after their double jump was reminiscent of Dixie Kong's hair-a-copter in Dixie Kong's Double Trouble!, while collecting the individual letters to make up the word TIMBER and earn an extra life reminded me of collecting the letters to make up KONG (I think this mechanic was present in all of the Donkey Kong Country games). There were also a few things that didn't affect my enjoyment of the game, but were nevertheless just odd:

Why are there different denominations of these coins that essentially serve no in-game purpose? Should I be more motivated to collect the gold ones?
Then when you get me invested in collecting these coins, I have to watch half of them fall into holes beneath the level upon completing the "battle" sections!
Why are the game's checkpoints pink signs with the word "Wi-Fi" on them? How does taking a selfie save my progress? Am I sending it to the cloud? Maybe checkpoints never make much sense in games...
Why put some much care and detail into the deteriorating appearance of the car as Timberman and the bear beat it up? I felt like I was playing a Street Fighter II bonus level. Perhaps you could spawn some gold coins upon destroying a car, or add an achievement for totaling all of them.
I can recommend Timberman, although I will say that I would prefer the inclusion of online co-op next time around, where both characters don't necessarily need to stay on the screen together. With the amount of verticality in the game, local co-op just doesn't make much sense. Ensuring that your co-op partner remains on the screen acts almost as an additional hazard. Lastly, a few tips:

You'll often need the small metal blocks to get extra height so you can make jumps or block projectiles. It makes sense to keep one with you for a while when you see it just in case you need it during the next section of the level.
Don't try to jump into the bubbles that carry your characters upwards in the game's second world. It's much easier to calibrate the traversal when you just float in subsequent bubble paths.
The game has very floaty controls, bland level design and lacks any form of replay value. It's a really easy game, but you will die a lot anyway due to how poorly designed the levels are. Also, you can't rebind the controls for some reason. The sprite work and animation are both amazing, though. If you still want to buy the game, you can download it for free on the app store, but this PC port just isn't worth it.
отличная игра. просто для отдыха. рекомендую. детям 30+ точно "зайдет")
