You wake up to the smell of rotting flesh in what can only be described as someone's basement. Your memory is blank and your vision impaired, you have no idea where you are. The floors and walls are dirty, it appears there may be other people here as there are dirty sheets on the floor.

Split between trying to launch it from Steam & launching the .exe directly, I have spent nearly 90 minutes playing this game. I have launched it around 70 times, it has crashed a good 50 times while loading the first level & off the remaining 20 odd plays, I quit 4 times & the others it crashed during other level load times. I really hate FPSC, I've never had an engine crash on me more & this game is by far the worst experience I've had with the engine. Other than that, this is too dark, one hit kill trash where enemies have incredibly fast animations & the player hit box is too big so you die a lot & it isn't worth it. Many enemies will also get wedged on the hitboxes of the bodies of the enemies you've already killed & 2 of the melee weapons you get don't seem to be able to hit them across that gap, but they can & so you get one hit killed that way a lot too, plus you can get hit through walls which is always fun. The game delivers the story by freezing you in place (or if you are jumping, it ever so slowly lowers you down to the ground) before delivering you a few lines of text that is your standard 'what happened...this must be the work of a madman...I should find a way out of here' that you get in these sorts of horror games that just pop up on the Steam store around Halloween. The story isn't interesting & it's delivered through an annoying mechanic. Also after a lot of the deaths it won't even display the game over screen properly, it will load you back at the checkpoint, slowly lowering you to the ground with different background music & you will just be frozen in place & have to manually go to the menu & load your game, or in lieu of loading your game, save your money.
Step right up ladies and gentlemen to another spectacularly awful buck 'o nine horror game. Today's crapfest is brought to us by newcomer dev Trauma, and second-time publisher New Worlds Games. Do you like long loading times? Do you enjoy enemies that defy the boundaries of the game? Do you like dying in one hit? Well step on up, because Captivity has all of that, and much more! This is not your standard Unity Personal Edition horror game, so luckily this title has good optimization as far as FPS goes. However, it's made in FPS Creator, so there are long load times, glitches, and random crashing instead. During my 24 minutes with the game, it crashed twice, and upon the last crash I just gave up entirely. It's not that the premise of Captivity is bad, and in fact the atmosphere within it is quite good; there's tons of blood, body parts, and tense music to satisfy a B-Grade gore craving. What's wrong with the game is everything else. It's your basic key finding simulator with fighting mechanics thrown in; bad ones, I might add. As far as I know, from making it to the 5th level, the only enemy types are ICP inspired Juggalos (I wish I was joking) who wield machetes... until the end of the 5th level where they somehow get guns. That's an excellent idea, let's give the horrible enemy AI guns when you die in one hit. Granted, the level also gives you a gun, but no HUD that explains that you do in fact have a limited number of bullets. I unfortunately saved right after expending my last bullet, leaving me to load a save where I was continually getting headshot by some clown before I could even move. If that isn't bad enough, your hitbox is enormous. I mean you are FAT. Either that or the ICP Juggalos activate their Go-Go-Gadget arms to reach you. Facing them one on one is hard enough when you die in one hit, but get this... they clip through the walls. Yes! The first time you encounter them, there are three of them behind a door with a fence. These mofos came straight through the wall. I died at this part the first time without knowing what was going on, and when I reloaded I saw machetes sticking through the plaster, moving; they kept moving until they finally clipped through. This happens on every level, so you'll die out of nowhere until you learn to look for the spawns and find out where they're clipping through at. Crashing? Check. Huge hitbox? Check. One enemy type? Check. Unfair gameplay that goes beyond "it's just a hard game"? Check. I might also mention that each time you load a save there might be something different that wasn't there before, such as an out of place Juggalo. Also, you do get a chainsaw at some point but it's SO loud you'll never want to use it... RIP ears. To sum it up, Captivity has a decent atmosphere and a relatively good idea story-wise, but its execution is horrid. I'm going to say it's Day 1, and it has potential. As it is Captivity is suffering from trying to do too many things too soon. I played this for ten minutes and went from snooping, to drugged and captured, to creepy mannequins to creepy screaming to having a bloody knife and then dying in a dark hallway for no reason, and the whole time there was creepy music that played way too loud to actually lend itself to the atmosphere. When the game starts trying to give story, it does so by abruptly stopping you from walking, and then displaying text in the middle of the screen. And I didn't figure out how to save before dying, so it sent me back to the beginning. So, despite the game having potential, as it is, I couldn't really recommend it.
To who ever made this game: Thank you. Thank you for the creation of this distasterpiece. I no longer have doubts for my own creative endevors due to this game being so hilariously bad, so awful, boring, needlessly hard, and unfair. I love this. I love the entertainment I have gotten out of this game. It's so fascinating that this game was actually created with the same game program I messed around with when I was about 12 years old, First Person Shooter Creator (FPSC). This game has given me and my friends such great laughs, the incompetence is amazing. I absolutely love this game because it's so far down the barrel it fell through the damn thing. I have no hate for the guy who made this. This was their vision, and they made it a reality. Still wish whoever made this kept making more things will all of their soul because newer bad games aren't really the same, this game along others like Lloyd the Monkey 2 and Guardians of Victoria are perfect examples of so-bad-it's-good PC games. I actually had a blast playing through this far more than most games that cost above 50 bucks or "free" live service games.
This game has no options ... No objectives ... no hints so you know what to do or where to go... You start the game in a motel yard... There is a tree on the right side, beside the white SUV... You'll find a keychain & you will simply grab it by passing by it... You go to the motel room, open the door... you'll find your murdered "friend" body & then you go to next level... Next level you are stuck in somewhat a dark room... nothing to do... no keys to find... no objectives whatsoever...& that is it.. nothing else to do ... 0/10
KART KAZANMA OYUNU
Ohhhh boy, where do I even begin with this one ? Captivity is an indie horror game that is pretty much like every other indie horror game on this site. Story: Captivity is not an in depth psychological adventure that will creep you out to your core. In Captivity you take on the role of a man that is looking for his friend who went missing in the bad part of the city. Your investigation leads you to a motel where you are knocked out and kidnapped by murdering psychos and put into an abandoned basement where your fight for survival begins. To avoid spoilers I'm gonna stop here, but trust me there's not much else apart from a twist you can see from a mile away. The storyline in Captivity is horrible in every way, with a twist that is so cliche by this point it made me laugh when it actually happened. It's really cliche and you can clearly see that there's been no effort put into it. Graphics: Of course with these indie horror games there's always a recurring theme that pretty much every single game looks like an asset flip and Captivity is no exception. The engine it runs on is the FPS Creator or as of now known as GameGuru and pretty much every game coming from that engine have a few things in common one of them being that every asset looks the same. It's a downright terrible looking game and not to mention the environments are so dark half of the time it's impossible to see where you're supposed to go. Audio: Honestly this is just as bad as everything else, the guns and sound effects are all awful. The gun sounds are stock sound effects so it's not like I'm looking for high realism, but at least some effort could have helped. Here's a tip for the dev if he ever tries to make another game and decides to put a chainsaw as a weapon again, don't make the sound of the chainsaw revving ear piercingly loud cause that is not fun. Gameplay: At first Captivity is a normal walking simulator where you walk around the environments looking for where to go next all while trying to avoid being caught by these psychos populating each level of the game, but after a few levels you get weapons and they control like utter crap. To give you an explanation on why the guns are awful, imagine playing a game like Call of Duty and not knowing how many bullets you have, not being able to pick up ammo of dead enemies that have the same weapons you do and aiming down sights being insanely buggy. When gun wielding enemies begin appearing it becomes way harder to deal with them as they have pixel perfect aim and will take you out as soon as you step into their view. You have to constantly save after taking out a batch of enemies so you don't have to restart the level from the start and event then you have to deal with constant crashing and game breaking bugs which are even more threatening than the enemies in-game and that is something you can't avoid, if you intend to play this game (which I suggest not to) you will have to deal with this as those issues are impossible to avoid. Verdict: Captivity is a mess of a game that has no place being on steam or even be considered a horror game. It's full of bugs that make the game next to impossible to play and the final payoff is more of a slap in the face more than anything. The game should be avoided at all costs. Oh and I almost forgot, the dev has bots on the steam page giving it a good reviews, so there's that. Final Rating: 1/10 Pros: N/A Cons: - Plot Makes no sense - Constant crashing and a ton of bugs - Horrible gun play If you liked the review consider joining and following the curator pages for both Imperial Reviews https://steamcommunity.com/groups/ImperialReviews and Completing The Backlog https://steamcommunity.com/groups/completingthebacklog
game for the all basement dwellers
I am too afraid to check this game guys but it surely is abomination, no doubt.
I haven't been able to go more than 45 seconds in game without getting stuck in some poorly defined border or missing chunk of floor. The plot is weak and environment is stale. Dont waste a dime on this game.
