Reviews
This game is fun but it was left unfinished, abandoned so I hear. I cannot say I reccomend a game the devs could not find time to finish. It is a shame as it has so much potential left to explore.
Got bored after a few hours. I remember being so excited for this game many years ago. Now I finally gave it a chance and it's not really... complete.

60+ hours in, and I'm gonna say that this game has a ton of promise, but that's basically it. The game is pretty much dead now with no further development on it by the developers, and the worst part is that the game does not have that many mods to enrich gameplay (most of the mods are resource related) and add replayability. The game starts of pretty fun and great. You set up your colony, then expand to cover the planet. Then you move onto other planets to establish your interplanetary empire. But after a while you start to run into some crucial issues that's got to do with how you need to constantly micromanage your planets' resources and how the AI which was supposed to handle that is horrible at it. If you're interested in this game, I'd tell you to wait for a sale, but otherwise it really isnt worth the money or time. And honestly I'd just say to look elsewhere for a game to scratch your planetary empire management itch.
Dead ant. Dead ant. Dead annnnnnnnt This game is dead like you just squished an ant. Even the modding community is dead
they promised the world. and delivered the bare minimum that is unenjoyable for more than 3 hours. stay clear and be beware of this developer.
Dont BUY! might seem enticing but gets boring fast its basicaly an afk sim
Don't know if the reviews are botted or just mindless drones (so the usual), but the game is fully abandoned, not updated for two years. Avoid, if you're looking for a game with updates.
TL;DR: I can recommend this game, especially if you catch it on sale. There are many things I liked and only a few I didn't, so the overall balance is definitely positive. :) So, what did I like about The Universim? The Narrator! He has such a calming, deep voice that really relaxes me. It suits the role perfectly and he’s a genuinely well-written character. His comments are interesting, witty, and just pleasant to listen to. Speaking of humor, that’s the second thing I really enjoyed. To be honest, when I first started and the devs served up their first joke, I was a bit skeptical. I thought, "Oh no, is this going to be full of cringe?" Fortunately, it’s not. The humor & jokes fit the gameplay... and I smiled a few times :) I enjoy the art style, the graphics. It suits the game's vibe and looks good. It's not a masterpiece, it's not something that I would put on my wall as a poster, but just looks nice and fit together well. I was also surprised by how much content there is. New things kept popping up, which kept me hooked for a long time. After 15 hours, I reached the space age and was able to colonise other planets. At that point, I realised that there was still a lot more to discover and that there was still a big part of the game left to play, but I stopped.... Why did I stop? Now we go to things that I didn't enjoy. Many things are not explained clearly enough. You often have to make decisions based on intuition or experimentation. That would be cool, but the problem is that the game becomes very punishing in the later stages if you make the wrong choice early on. I know that’s part of the strategy/city-builder genre, but here it felt a bit off. But here goes another problem - you don't feel that something is wrong. You go stress free through one event to another, from one research to another, you expand a lot and problems suddenly start to pile up.... Other settlements attack, but my troops don't defend? I still don't know tbh... maybe a bug? Electricity usage can rapidly go to extremes and half of your city is not working. People starve, even though you built a lot of eateries. One moment I have too many Creator Points, the next I don't have enough to help anyone The percentage of believers is falling, which is natural when there is more education and development, but overall, I still don't know what to do to catch up. I healed them, performed miracles and other things... but it didn't help much. All these problems just came out of nowhere for me. I felt like I didn't truly understand why they were happening or how to fix them. So after 15 hours I lost motivation to continue the game, but I enjoyed the experience regardless of problems above. I can definetly say that I enjoyed playing this game, it was fun and time well spent. I just reached the point where I felt that it doesn't make sense anymore and it's time to jump to another game.
