Ok, re-re edit after my partner and I became the first ones to finish the game. This game is a true example of excellence in writing, graphics, design, and puzzles with a powerful message and a philosophy that I don’t just find beautiful, but one I honestly think we should all share. The Travelers is a game about solving a mystery, a puzzle, uncovering the story of what happened, exploring, gathering materials, cooperating with others, stealing, fighting, building. With the simplicity of its design, it completely pulls you in always making you wonder what else happened, what the next step is. The items, the inventory, the materials everything hits that perfect balance of simplicity and complexity that makes it incredibly engaging without ever feeling “grindy.” Here, there is only excellence. In my opinion, it’s a masterpiece. A hidden gem. I truly hope everyone who reads this manages to finish the game.

I had a dream about this game the other day, if that gives you any idea how obsessed I am with it right now. Give it a go. Join the discord. I haven't felt this way about a game since the community came together to solve Fez. And it's seriously making me question whether or not Clair Obscur is actually the best game I played this year...

So far this game is very interesting. Scavaging the wasteland for supplies, while peicing together parts of the story. The overall feeling is tense and mysterious. It's simple, yet the presentation is clean and immediately engossing. I'm happy with my purchase so far!

this games story up to where i am is great it has everything a sci-fi lover like me could want but you'll need to put the time in to uncover it all, with the communities help its doable or if your just good at puzzles. the unique style of the game and simple gameplay may turn some people off but id say this game is worth the purchase. it's about a collaborative effort to uncover the games true story and i've been having a blast working towards that.

It's a great game. I've been obsessed with it, lately. To clarify, this is mainly "a puzzle game". Your main goal is to progress through the story by reading all the transcripts you came across to understand who you are, where you are and why you're here. The discord is very active and you can ask for help or brainstorm over there if you are stuck at any point. (I haven't finished it yet, myself) There's a lot of reading involved but it's definitely not a bad thing because what you're reading is actually interesting and well thought. Don't be scared by the fact that it's a "full loot pvp" game. The map is gigantic and you can easily avoid others if you want to. Besides, ressources are abundant and pvp is more of a freedom than something the game encourages. You do not have to kill anyone. The dev is also very active on discord and works hard to tackles the problems that may occur. (which also deserved an honorable mention considering it released around the holiday season) Anyway, best 5 bucks I've spent on steam in years!

great game so far

Beautiful writing and interesting premise. The intro of the game alone is worth the money because its such a good read and nice vibey experience. I haven't finished the game yet, but I've been really enjoying both working on solving the puzzles and just walking around exploring stuff. I was hesitant to play the game because it was ascii but the shaders or whatever they are end up making the art feel very pretty and i often forget its even ascii. The music is also wonderful. I tackled this game with one other player and i found the puzzles to be fun and not too difficult so far, but we're both stumped on where to go next at the moment, though i have a few ideas to try out and am looking forward o doing so when we get a chance. Wonderful game, definitely worth the price. If you like puzzle games or sci-fi stories (particularly in the vein of asimov) then I'd give this game a try for sure.

Very heartfelt story, didn`t even finish it yet. Love it.

I am an old MUD player and when I saw this I was immediately intrigued. After playing for several hours I am hooked. The Interface, the writing, the music and overall story all work in such a wonderful way. I would highly recommend this to anyone who likes Sci/fi, MUDS, Puzzle solving through an interactive well written story. Well done to the developers!
