Pretty good. It did at times feel like the scope was bigger than they at first anticipated but they seemed to gracefully pull off everything, even if it's not quite as explored as it could be. It was a great game and definitely worth the purchase.
"The Tale of Galariel" is a turn-based RPG. You play the "villain" but.. are you really?.. You are an orc seeking revenge on humans for wiping out your tribe. What really sets this one apart from similar games is the depth it has in both story and gameplay. You get to chose and make your orc exactly what you want it to be. His class and skills are ALL up to you without limitations. You can shape him to your liking and how you are comfortable playing as. Add to this, the skills you can learn and the vast morality and loyalty systems, and you got yourself one of the most immersive turn-based RPGs you'll ever play! Play as the best, the worst, or something in between! Shape your relationships! Rule! Interestingly, you can obtain a Keep and expand it as you wish, craft, smelt and so on. You are playing a full experience and you have absolute control over every detail, including your companions down to the tiniest detail. Even the names! The combat takes some thinking but you can win by using clever attacks even if you are at a MUCH lower level than your opponent. Don't take this the wrong way and think the game is a breeze. The battles are hard but not unfair. I like the system and our abilities, you can make some great combos and luck is not a big factor. The "magic" system is refreshing. Instead of having X mana and all attacks costing Y, you have spell/ability levels and you can use X amount of times a move from Y level. It makes for a very interesting play! Pretty and clever attacks, good balance, fair chance. All characters have unique personalities and fit well with the narrative and humor of the game. Most of the dialogues are awesome! A hidden gem worthy of everyone's attention. Decent game lenght, limited but well crafted world, a plethora of choices! Every playthrough can be unique and you'll be discovering many details you might have missed due to the path you followed. Surviving and thriving won't be easy.. It will be rewarding to you as a player though. Highly recommended! For more reviews, follow my curator https://store.steampowered.com/curator/44864435-Mewesome-Reviews/
The story was engaging. The characters were entertaining. This game made me laugh out loud more than once! A horse tried to sell me drugs 9/10 can't wait to play through new game+
Classic RPG style game meets pop culture and internet references equates to the makings of an indie game cult classic! The Tale of Galariel is fun, as you adventure in a different way than your standard RPG, because you are an Orc warlord, conquering the land out of revenge. There are many references, easter eggs, and so many places that I just laughed really hard, that I really can't give this game enough positive review. I don't want to go into anything else in the game to spoil anything, so I'll just wrap up by saying: On top of the game itself, the devs have been absolutely wonderful, responsive, and have openly accepted feedback, which I just consider us all blessed by a team that listens to the players. Well done to them as well. I got the game for free in a giveaway on a stream, but this game would have been WELL WORTH the price anyway. I enjoyed this SO MUCH!
English: i found this game two days ago, buy today and tried too, it the developer continued supporting the game (Bugs fixed) it could make amazing game, i support the game. Español: Encontré este juego hace dos días, lo compre hoy y lo probé, si el desarrollador lo continua traqueando(arreglo de errores) podrá ser un juegazo, lo apoyo.
It is a turn based JRPG style game. Not usually my cup of tea but I am having so much fun. I am working my way through this game. I am absolutely having a blast. Check it out and enjoy.
Facts: You can fight a pudding. One of the weapons is a coat rack, another is a carrot. Toilet paper is used to unequip a cursed item which is brown and sticky. At the very start of the game you are warned that it contains themes of slavery, revenge, swearing, and other adult content. Opinions: It works way better than it ought to, given the disparity between its little-kid-random humor and the inherently-grim subject matter. Perhaps this is because both are mostly presented in text (a given, seeing as this is an RPGmaker game), allowing the player to direct the pacing by slowing down to appreciate a good bit of dialogue or skipping past its opposite. Perhaps this is because there's a strange earnestness in this misspelling-ridden, frequently expletive-filled, not-as-funny-or-as-clever-as-it's-trying-to-be, awkward, little game, an earnestness that reminds me of my middle/high school days. It's hard to stay frustrated at a game where an individual bossfight might have a unique tune, or a beautiful background image for a fight might be used once and only once, where such care and effort has gone into things so easy to miss. The gameplay loop is good and the feeling of progression is satisfying (with a lot less grinding than I'm used to in this sort of game), I've certainly enjoyed games which were less fun on a gameplay level. Each class and subclass feels meaningfully distinct, and there's some solid "choices matter" components, so the replay value is there. Each location is fun to walk around in, and none of them overstay their welcome; massive props for that. If the Age of Fear series felt like a low-budget indie attempt to make something like Warlords Battlecry III or Heroes of Might and Magic III, then this feels like a no-budget RPGmaker attempt to make something like Breath of Death or Cthulhu Saves The World, and as such I'm really glad that I gave it a chance, because it was worth every minute of it. Sure, I'm biased and opinionated, but I like what I like, and, despite all of its flaws and expletives, I like this game. I like it quite a bit.
From playing the demo, to playing this from full release. This game has all of the amazing contents of a typical classic RPG and DND elements. From the gear scaling, to the various perception checks, and dialogue options, this game hooked me in and I want to play it again and again. I cannot wait for future updates of this game to experience more of this story. Please give this game a chance.
A wonderful game with a wonderful story, hate the final boss, but love how pissed it makes the dev when i fight it, 9/10
