JUEGO DE MRDA
I was driven into feelings of disgust and even hate towards Fimonori's actions, but those feelings were not as intense towards Saya's. I could accept her nature before questioning it. But why not his? It is hard to accept more of manhood's betrayal of their opposite-gendered kind as a human nature, in a story where he raped, enslaved, killed and cannibalized on women mainly. Did Saya take her human form deliberately, knowing that she isn't puzzled by what a man wants, or was it the making of a man's distorted perspective based on previous ideas of beauty and desirability? Either ways, how is that Saya's fault if it is? And how can I believe his love for her if he would have hated her true form the way he is hating on what he's perceiving now as his friends? Why is it so hard to empathize or love something ugly?
TL;DR
"Saya no Uta", the highest ranked on vndb (visual novel database) is a censored (Steam Version that is), overhyped and flawed story. It starts off strong but drags out and feels repetitive for the majority of it. It requires a lot of "suspension of disbelief" for the story to work—it's hard for me to take it seriously. It just isn't that well thought out, which is a shame—cause at the core it has a good foundation and premise that I really wanted to enjoy. It also being a fairly short story (6-12 hours depending on text speed and if you go for all three endings), it doesn't have enough time to build up the characters, making it tough to care for what happens to said characters which is another pitfall here. If only it were longer and more fleshed out (pun not intended) it could've be something actually good.
Note
I got all 3 Endings (100%) in 11.7 hours in the following orders 1. Neutral Ending (9.8 hours) 2. True Ending (+1.6 hours) 3. Bad Ending (+14 min)
Pros

Music: There's no denying that this game has some great soundtracks! (Schizophrenia being my favorite but they're all bangers - except "Savage", ruined the vibe on the endings)
Endings: Regardless of my feelings for the game, the endings are actually good. They all offer something unique and ends nicely. Standout being the True Ending (so if you don't get it on your first time, it kind of lacks the impact when you just reload from a save file like I did)
Strong start and finish: It has a intense start and is very good and has actually quite good endings.
Settings: Customizable settings are always welcomed.

Cons

Too Short (5-12 hours): Makes it hard to build up characters and the world for the player to care for anything.
Censored Version (Requires buying a Unscensored Patch!): Steam Version is the Censored Version. To get the "Director's Cut" or the "Unscensored Version", you have to buy the patch from the Developers website (€2.96): jaststore.com/games/np004_dlc/saya-no-uta-the-song-of-saya-dlc-steam
Stupid Characters: Good ol' classic horror tropes that will frustrate you due to stupid decisions and characters.
Bad Storytelling: While I said it started strong and ended well—the meat of the game is not good. It's also kind of obvious where it is headed and lacks any real sense of twists that you didn't already see coming. The premise is interesting at first, but as you think more about it and as it progresses it just seems so full of illogical "holes" and inconsistencies that ruins immersion. Perhaps I'm just silly to try make sense of a crazy fictional story, but yeah it kind of makes little sense if even try to think about it. So just take it for what it is and don't think I guess? I don't know - it just ends up silly in the end. I thought the story would explore more themes that it started with, but ended just following a basic structure and not exactly featuring much that you surprise you. I'm not saying it's bad, but it's just...isn't too thought out I suppose.
Repetitive Visuals: There are very few different character "sprites" or envoirment, after a while it just gets very stale and repetitive with little variation. Same places - same rooms - same everything.
No 2560x1440 Resolution: Max is 1920x1440
No Gamepad Support

Pretty good game, eating while playing made the experience even better.
