"The Slopes" promises extreme terrain without the extreme cold, which perfectly captures its core: all the repetitive motion of skiing with none of the actual risk or reward. You dodge, you collect, you dash—a familiar trinity of time-wasting mechanics dressed up in a winter coat. The warning that you "might never come off the mountain" is tragically accurate, as this is clearly a Skinner box designed to trap you in an endless loop of pointless coin gathering. It's the perfect downhill race for those whose greatest ambition is to unlock a slightly different pair of virtual goggles. This isn't a mountain; it's a digital treadmill, and the only glory you'll find is a new high score that nobody else cares about.

Несмотря на визуальный минимализм, The Slopes — это примитивный раннер с фиксированной трассой и отсутствием какой-либо вариативности. Управление наклоном головы вызывает дискомфорт и быстро утомляет шею. Механика предельно проста: уклонение от препятствий и сбор монет, причем столкновения с объектами не несут никаких штрафных санкций. Полное отсутствие таблиц лидеров сводит любую мотивацию к нулю — игрок соревнуется лишь с самим собой, что быстро надоедает. Прохождение трассы занимает около трех минут, а реиграбельность стремится к нулю. Игра представляет собой типичный «ассет-флип» без проработанного геймплея. Рекомендовать можно разве что заядлым коллекционерам VR-проектов по минимальной цене.
