Detective Reiji Tokisaka is back to face down a mystery that spans decades, if not centuries. With the aftermath of his last case weighing on his soul and a long-silent cult resurgent, can he solve the crime—or will it become his curse?
Modeled estimate, not a reported figure. How we estimate →
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.14/day in the week to Sep 10 → 0.86/day in the week after.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.43/day in the week to Jul 24 → 0.57/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

That was so much better than Kara no Shoujo/The Shell Part 1, the story was much more intricate and everything weaved together so nicely. The start felt slow but it makes way more sense when it jumps back to Reiji's POV, without spoiling anything. Easily one of the best VNs I've read. Also still the darkest VN I've read, so much so it makes it hard to smile at the happy parts yk. You'll need a guide to have any chances at getting all endings, it's as impossible as always

A significant downgrade from the first instalment, with Innocent Grey overindulging in all of their worst habits. Probably really good if you think the quality of a story = how many "twists" it has.
"The undisputed king of the genre — hand over the mystery crown" The Shell Part II: Purgatorio doesn't just raise the bar for visual novels; it takes the throne entirely. If anyone ever dares to claim that visual novels can't rival the absolute highest peaks of mystery fiction, hand them this work of art and end the debate forever. Why it claims the crown: 👑 Unrivaled Narrative Mastery: The way this story weaves its dual timelines, psychological horror, and dark historical noir without a single wasted line is pure genius. Every reveal lands like a sledgehammer. 👑 Profound Philosophical Weight: It dives fearlessly into human obsession, grief, and generational scars, creating a narrative that feels less like a simple game and more like a literary masterpiece. 👑 Peerless Atmosphere: Eerie, gorgeous artwork coupled with an unforgettable melancholic score builds a suffocating, hypnotic tension that no other mystery title can replicate. Innocent Grey didn't just write a sequel—they forged the single greatest mystery visual novel ever created. An unrivaled, monumental triumph that stands unmatched at the absolute top of the genre.
