Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

The Settlers: Rise of an Empire is a game I always find myself reinstalling and coming back to, no matter how much time passes. There’s something incredibly satisfying about its slower, more relaxed approach to city building, where watching your settlement grow and your citizens go about their daily routines never gets old. The gameplay loop is smooth, rewarding, and easy to settle into, making it perfect for both short sessions and long playthroughs. What really makes it special is its replayability. No matter how many times you play it over, it never feels boring. There’s a comforting familiarity to it, paired with enough depth to keep things engaging every time you return. The charming visuals, gentle pacing, and well-balanced mechanics make it a timeless entry in the series and a city builder that continues to stand the test of time.
Played this game over 15 years ago, still looks amazing and plays beautifully. I am playing on Linux (KDE Neon) and just needed to run the Ubisoft Installer with Wine (as suggested on Proton DB.) Plays flawlessly otherwise.

This game doesn't work properly on more contemporary systems. My system isn't great, but it more than suffices to exceed the requirements listed for such an old game and yet the reality is that this "port" is a cheap mockery which is not functional or "ported" over to be properly functional on modern systems at all. It's outlandish to charge a price for a malfunctional product which isn't even a faithful port and which doesn't run properly. Additionally, it REQUIRES an Ubisoft Uplay account to even launch, but even when you do launch it you'll likely be met with a plethora of graphical errors regardless of the settings you choose. I'm not sure how modern gaming has regressed in its consumer practices to such an extent that even when they try to sell an old product, the "updated version" still ends up being strictly worse and has no care put into it at all, like it's held by bolts and glue somehow, despite the fact that we are decades ahead of when this game was first released. This was clearly a cashgrab divested from the original spirit of the studio behind its creation... zero effort put into ensuring that it was ported over properly.
requires third party launcher to play. Waste of money. buy it on gog instead.
Great game. loved it as a child and now years later older.
It's one of the better Settlers games. I feel they were close to making something great with it, but they fell short in the releases that came after it.
Was a huge fan of older Settler games since I was a kid. This one was pure disappointment. I got it to try it and could not play it for more than 20 minutes. Just went too far from your old roots. Just in my humble opinion.
Best settlers game!
