Really good game, great environment, great jump scares. well worth the money!

It doesn't do anything groundbreaking, but it squeezes in a couple of puzzles, a couple of scares, and a decent bit of atmosphere building during it's short game time. Keep in mind that runtime I have also includes a restart because I got stuck in a wall. For the price I think it's worth it.

The Renovator! Museum conservation and restoration, meets horror, meets an escape room. You take on the role of a 'renovator' assisting a friend in restoring some old exhibits and new arrivals to the museum's workshop, after the previous restorer mysteriously disappeared... It falls down to you to pick up where they left off, but what is that noise? Did that picture just move? Can you solve the solve problems on which our fate depends? In essence The Renovator is a reasonably simple, and short, horror adventure game by Russian developer mirzagame5 The game is based around point and click puzzle solving, and a certain amount of waiting of things to happen. You start by exploring the workshop and picking up where the predecessor left off and gradually unravel the mysteries but no spoilers here. The art style is probably the best part of the game, there are nice details, the sun reflection parquet floor, nice detail on the paintings and other exhibits. The music is okay and probably second best part of the game. The voice acting is in Russian but with English subtitles. The story itself feels part of something else, maybe this was originally part of a larger project, or just a test piece. There are puzzles that appear incomplete. The game is sort divided into three sections by the three main jump scares the game uses to progress the story. As trained conservator, I was definitely not impressed with the workshop or storage, look at all those windows, I hope they have UV filters! However, I will not criticise that too much, but not a great representation of a museum workshop. Overall: The Renovator is a very short game, 15-25 minutes of gameplay, and does provide a certain level of entertainment. At the current price of £0.79 on Steam it is worth a look if you like horror or puzzle-adventure games. 2.5/5 trowels

Very short horror game with a few jumpscares and without a story. You are a renovator in a museum and have to fix some exhibites. Meanwhile creepy stuff happens and you can stalk the cute lady next door. ;) For the price it is worth it!
