When I saw this, I was excited that the style was similar to Ragnarok Online. And I've had some amount of fun playing the game, but at this point, it looks like it's pretty much been abandoned. There are many glitches and issues. It feels more like a demo than a game. And it has so much potential that has stalled development wise. If you can pick it up for REALLY cheap and like the art style, try it. But other than that, it's not worth a purchase.
Great concept, amazing presentation and sooo much potential... ...BUT... unfortunately the game is a bug fest. I did one play through and i kinda had fun actually - but for now I'm done with it. I would love to come back and finish the achievements and have a couple more runs. Here is what needs to be adressed (and should have already solved before they shipped it...): - fix the bugs - fix the button mapping (cuttently it does not save the changes) - maybe some variety in the dungeons Sure, it is a pretty cheap deal but this game is not in early access even tho it feels like it. (I am willing to change my review if problems getting solved)
I think this may be the first time I've come across AI slop: the game. 1. It literally has the disclaimer, thanks for making games have that, steam! 2. Even the cover art is questionable (what is that? a mage rogue in the middle left? with a...trashed dagger that's been bent like a loony toons cartoon? 3. Insanely cheap despite being so new (I think I got it on sale for literally one dollar) 4. Tons of things just plain don't work 5. Bland and soulless, yet inoffensive and digestible. Slop. The gameplay itself is 2.5D Maze Mice, or Binding of Isaac, but insanely generic. You will never remember having played this game. Honestly, not only should you not reward this kind of slop, you should find like, actual passion projects or art that people spent their time on, and use your limited time on this earth to experience that instead.
I was compelled to play this game since it was developed by a small indie team from my country (just two dudes), I was drawn to the general aesthetic and the idea that Chilean topography and lore inspired the team. HOWEVER, the game ended up being extremely generic, linear and uninspiring. There's plenty to draw from in Chilean folklore and culture, I would have loved this game delved into that, instead we got a generic "ranger must defeat demon lord and his orcish horde" (even though I laughed a bit when the earthquakes hit, that must have been the only nod to our culture). In terms of gameplay, it's fine I guess? There are fun skills and passives to play around, tried a melee barbarian type of build on my first run only to absolutely break the game with an attack-speed/crit bow wielding build. I ended up oneshotting everything and "beating" the game in under 4 hours, sadly the final boss bugged to hell and KO'ed me at the same exact time I got the achievement for defeating him. I ended up feeling alienated and didn't want to go through all the levels again just to see the ending. Most levels were okay but uninteresting to explore, except from the volcano which heavily punishes mobility with it's mazelike vertical structure, dungeons are same-y and itemization is your standard diablo-inspiring fare, with the exception that there are no rigid classes in this game, you can equip whatever you want whenever you want so you can mix and match equipment as you wish. I know this is a passion project developed by only two people, but it sadly fails to deliver in most aspects. Yet, there are some semblances of greatness here and there, hopefully their next game will be better. Oh, also it's cheaper than a "completo" so maybe it's worth a try for a couple runs. 4/10 for me.
I'd give this game a neutral rating if I could. Will give it a positive review, since a negative feels a bit unfair. After 10 hours and 4 completed runs, all I can say is that this game could be so, so much more than it currently is, but it seems unlikely that it'll be developed any further. Visually, it's great. Core gameplay loop is decent and fun, but is lacking depth. In fact, every system in this game is lacking depth: - If you have any experience with rougelikes or ARPGs, it'll take you about an hour to figure out the strongest synergies. Given how easy it is to reroll abilities and passives, you'll be able to turn every run into a god run - The fishing system is pointless and doesn't add anything. It's faster to farm divine coins and food by killing enemies - you can finish the whole game without ever realizing there's a fishing minigame - The hunger / food system also adds nothing to the gameplay, it's just a chore to press F every 20s to eat - The game's difficulty scales too slowly. By the time I've hit difficulty 4, I was killing the last boss while being significantly below max level - just using all the level 5 bow-related perks - The enemies lack diversity and any sort of distinction beyond "runs at you to melee" and "runs near you to spam projectiles" - All boss mechanics are trivialized by any of the healing perks - you can just tank every hit and outheal them - For some reason, physical damage and attack speed scale with % bonuses, but magic damage is always a flat damage increase, meaning that magic damage is just worse in almost all builds. The only fun I had with mage builds was to bind all skills to the same button and spamming that. - All the achievements are bland and boring. I could go on and on, but I'm just frustrated. This game has a solid foundation and gameplay bones, but feels half-assed. Or kind of still in EA. There's also a bunch of typos in skill descriptions which feels sloppy. I don't regret picking it up on a 40% discount, but wouldn't pay full price for it.
scam slop
I briefly enjoyed it with the expectation that it was still in development. It is all but abandoned now. The "new" game they are making looks just like this game but with better graphics and the fixes and updates they should've added to this one. I expect they will charge the same if not more for the new one.
めちゃくちゃ面白そう!と思って遊んでみると意外とそうでもないゲー。 お湯を水で薄めたみたいな味がする。 おそらく健康には良い。
Cheap AI assets masked with pixelization. Not much new or innovative. Essentially it's a Survivors-type game. It's a little too easy. It's kinda hard to die, so you dont get much opportunity to upgrade your runs. Nevertheless, it is playable, and an okay time for a few hours. Worth picking up for a buck, if it goes on sale. $5 CAD is a little much for it.
Fun for about 30 minutes in that junkfood/guilty pleasure kinda way, but wears thin quickly after. The game has an entire "generations" system, but I didn't notice after choosing the Ranger and stacking Attack Speed. Won the game first try, and honestly, there isn't enough here to even warrant a 2nd playthrough - let alone a 100th for the achievement. Like a decent fillet mignon, it's good, but too little to carry through. --- Note, I just noticed this game had an A.I. involvement statement at the bottom, and feel all the more firm in my sentiment. This game is too shallow in both game design and vision. I regret ever complimenting this in any way.
