When the sun goes down on the last night of summer camp, nine teenage counselors are plunged into an unpredictable night of horror. The only thing worse than the blood-drenched locals and creatures hunting them are the unimaginable choices you must make to help them survive.

Typical teenage horror movie from USA
Let's get this out of the way first — this is absolutely a walking simulator. Is it an easy, accessible game that anyone can enjoy? Yes. Does it offer a decent story with a fun mystery to untangle as you play? Absolutely. This is very much a sit-back-and-relax experience, with an optional co-op mode that I personally used throughout my playthrough. It does enough right that I'd recommend it to anyone not looking for complex mechanics or a steep learning curve. That said, there are elements here that leave a lot to be desired. The loop goes something like: walk, cutscene, walk, cutscene, walk, maybe interact with an item, cutscene. By the end, the sheer volume of cutscenes becomes genuinely tiresome. Some sections have you walking for literally five seconds before the screen cuts away again. As gorgeous as the high-fidelity visuals, scene composition, and lighting are, I kept getting pulled out of the experience by how relentless the interruptions felt. Pulling back on the cutscenes and extending the exploration sections would have given the game much-needed breathing room. The other major irritant is that you can't run — at all. The old-school fixed camera style is a genuinely nice touch, pulling from Resident Evil and other classic horror games, but the inability to even jog makes the walking sections feel sluggish and tedious, especially when combing larger areas for clues and story items. Where Supermassive Games consistently delivers is in story and character development. I distantly remember Until Dawn pulling me in the same way — there's something genuinely engaging about trying to piece everything together before it unfolds. I was able to call certain story beats fairly early, but like the choose-your-own-adventure games of old, you're not always right, and the inability to redo sections adds a welcome layer of tension. Keeping everyone alive is tougher than expected, and the early choices carrying real consequences later is a mechanic that works well. Knowing your ending will differ from anyone else's also gives the game solid replayability — after finishing, we went back to explore missed sections, uncollected items, and unchosen decisions, which naturally pulled us toward investigating the other endings. The dialogue and character writing, however, are more of a mixed bag. Certain characters respond to situations in ways that feel bizarrely out of place, killing momentum at key moments. With 186 unique endings and the branching overhead that comes with that, it seems like the sheer volume of narrative paths dilutes the quality of individual dialogue. Trimming that scope down significantly would likely have elevated the overall writing considerably. That said, there are genuine moments of attachment — I found myself invested in certain characters and was caught off guard more than once when my assumptions were flipped. It's almost exactly what I want, just in need of some refinement. Location-wise, Supermassive clearly knows how to dress a story. The 80s horror aesthetic blended with a modern sensibility has been done a lot lately, but I don't see that as a knock here — it still managed to subvert my expectations, especially going in blind. I don't usually focus heavily on graphics, but some of the shots and renderings here are genuinely exceptional. The game uses photogrammetry alongside cinematic effects and camera angles more commonly seen in film, which adds a real sense of weight and presence to the environments. One thing worth noting — I've seen too many reviews spoiling details about the antagonist, and half the fun is working that out yourself. Watch a trailer, form your own impression, and go in as fresh as you can. Would I recommend it? Yeah, without hesitation — the controls are simple, it plays like an interactive movie, and it's a fantastic hangout game. Fans of Until Dawn will find familiar ground here, though I do think that game edges this one out — though I may be viewing it through rose-tinted glasses. At full price it's a tougher sell, but I've seen it go as low as $6, and at that price it's absolutely worth your time. 78/100
Cool story
имбулечка на лето (только анимки лица у персов какие то кривые, а так все отлично)
nice
So uh, big scary werewolf, that's all.
Spooky werewolfs hunting down teens 👍 scarry. My laptop struggling to play this game but still playable 10/10
