About

The Other Side is a 1-6 player cooperative paranormal investigation game. Players work together to identify and cleanse entities using a range of equipment, and environmental tools. Gather evidence, track ghost behavior, and complete objectives across different locations using both traditional, and modernized tools.
Players can customize their characters and unlock items to personalize their headquarters. Built in Unreal Engine 5, the game focuses on modern, functional investigation systems and detailed environments.

Play solo, or with up to five other players as you investigate haunted locations. Work together to identify and cleanse entities by gathering evidence and completing objectives.
In-Game Voice Chat:
Communicate with your team using proximity-based voice chat. Share information, coordinate movement, and respond to events in real time. Players can even communicate with their fallen friends by using the spirit box.
Shared Equipment:
Players can bring and use equipment during contracts, allowing teams to coordinate loadouts and approach each investigation strategically. Success depends on how effectively tools are used, and information is shared.

Progress through the game to unlock more customization options across your loadout, character, and headquarters. Earn money via contracts to spend on customization options for yourself, your vehicle, and headquarters. Upgrading to a larger vehicle increases the number of items you can bring into investigations.
Character Customization:
Customize your character with a range of apparel, hairstyles, and skin tones.
Headquarters Outfitting:
Unleash your creativity as you furnish and upgrade your base, sculpting its appearance to reflect your success in completing contracts and tasks. Create an atmospheric hub that fellow ghost hunters envy.

Identify:
Determine the ghost type by gathering evidence, and observing behavior. Use investigation tools to track activity, collect date, and correctly identify the ghost haunting the location.
Cleanse:
Now that the Identify Team has done their job, it's time for you to do yours. Work as a team to cleanse the location of the ghost haunting it. Use your ghost-hunting tools to identify the ghost's characteristics, and input them into the Spectral Affixer, revealing the location of the artifacts binding the ghost to the location. Find the artifacts and destroy them to banish the ghost from the location.

Investigate a range of locations, each with distinct layouts, environmental details, and each with their own gameplay challenges. Every location is designed to support evidence gathering, ghost tracking, and contract objectives.

As a deaf gamer, yes, I can be honest and even the developers were honest with me that this game is not deaf friendly. I have adapted to other ghost hunting games based on the basic of the gameplay, so I did the same with this game, the basic of the gameplay is very similar as other ghost hunting games so I was kind of right at home. There are few things that doesn't help without hearing it, but there are few things that can be used as a visual of an audio happening, this game, at this point of Early Access on 17th June 2026, is really difficult to play as a deaf player on SOLO mode. Multiplayer, however, is fantastic if you find a good teammate or a team, that will assist you, and they are your ears, I had a blast playing this with few lovely teammates. It came natural to me playing this, having played other ghost hunting games in the past, in term of gameplay, but the maps are different, the events are different, the ghosts are different, and they have their own lore tied to each map, and the maps are amazing and very well polished. There are two different styles of playing this game, normal identifying the ghost type, as we all have came to know from other ghost hunting games, but this game also got cleanse mode which is exorcising the ghost from location, I haven't dabble in the cleanse much, but I hope to someday soon, for now I'm enjoying identifying the ghost types. There are only 2 developers, and this game is only 1 year in EA, but it have so much promises and potentials, and the developers are super active with the community. They give this game a good and steady content updates, and they send out fixes quickly. My favourite feature of the game is having a phone as torch, selecting evidence, taking photo, detecting motion movements if it's turned on in map, guide, checking heart rate, and a timer, all in one phone! Bonus, the camera have a selfie mode, so you can take selfies with your team or with a ghost LOL. There are few very special ghost events per map and I've witnessed a few, not all, but they are amazing and very spooky, I can't wait to experience all of it. This game also got customisation and cosmetic (with in-game money, not with IRL money :D ), and you can even decorate your Headquarter! I love what I see in this game, how hard the devs worked on it and poured everything into this, I have faith in the devs and they have my support wholeheartedly to see this game out to 1.0 launch and beyond 1.0. Easy recommendation for ghost hunting game enjoyers.
This game feels like a ghost hunting game made by people who actually play ghost hunting games. I'm having more fun than I expected, because there's 100 ghost games now, and I just figured it'd be the same old, same old. My people, it is not the same old. So many reasons it's not. * They just did a huge custom difficulties update. After the update, the devs were active in the Discord asking how things are, how do we like it? Having actual conversations with us all about what we liked and didn't like, and answering questions. * They then updated it AGAIN days later to reflect on the conversations they had with us in the Discord *The community is great. Every now and then someone tries to bring a little chaos with them, but the mods don't mess around and the devs are surprisingly hands-on. I've even seen a dev show up and ask, "May I ask who this person was?" They work as hard on having a wonderful community as they do on the game. *When they had their big custom difficulty update, a streamer was streaming it and found a bug. One of the devs was watching the stream. Within 30 minutes the streamer said "Wait, the bug is gone." The dev went and fixed it when he saw it happen on the stream *The devs will randomly open up their lobbies and announce to everyone "Hey to my HQ and get a double XP ticket and some game $$" Just for the hell of it. Cause they're good people. *You can buy multiple different home bases and mobile bases and decorate the home bases with furniture all bought with your in game money you make. I'm pretty much in love with the cabin because it's my dream home lol. I like it because you're always trying to achieve things in game even outside the hunting matches. *They support their content creators SO much. Each contract creator is able to make their own "posters" that players can use and hang inside their bases in the game. They get custom skins and clothing so they know how appreciated they are *Multiple maps, custom difficulties, character customization including hair and clothing, some pretty damn good jump scares, lore for each map, It feels like you're actually working toward something instead of endlessly repeating the same gameplay loop. * People get kind of confused when they first play, which actually is a great thing. They come in wanting to play like a Phas player, but this game is trying to make it different, and once you see the different in it, you want to come back and play more. This is not a "find the ghost room, find what it is and get out". The ghost leaves signs anywhere and everywhere, so you're doing a lot more investigating than in Phas. The ghost room is only part of the game. *There's not only the Identify game mode that we all are familiar with, but they also have a cleanse mode which is another game mode that is totally new and fresh and not seen anywhere else. They are also working on another mode called "Survive the night" (I believe that's what it's called). No news on that yet. At the end of the day, its not one feature that keeps me wanting to play. I just really feel like every system in this game, every interaction, every update, every conversation in the Discord feels like it comes from devs who genuinely care about making a really good ghost hunting game. This genre is filled with copycats. I really believe The Other Side isn't trying to be another ghost hunting game, I believe it's trying to be a better one. TLDR: BUY IT
The good: - Ghosts are actually scary, it seems they "think" - they can sneak on you, shapeshift, affect only one player, so it's always interesting to see the new things. - Maps are polished, they feel unique. - Death mechanics actually want me to get killed by the ghost. It's super fun to mess with other players! What I don't like and where is field for improvement: - Lightning on the maps is insufficient, if I were to live in these buildings I'd be a mole - It's easy to avoid ghosts. I find it way too easy to survive a hunt. It also takes quite some time for a hunt. - Some maps are very confusing, especially the hospital. Bigger =/= better. - Ambience sound could add so much more to the atmosphere. Some people are more afraid of what they can hear instead of what they can see. It adds so much to the imagination. Speaking of imagination - building a momentum is super important in ghost hunting games. I think there should be more focus on sound and lighting design, adding subtle jumpscares that can escalate. Cause if the kitchen is blown up at the start of a game, nothing will scare you afterwards.
Phasmo.... but much more love was put into this game. Highly recommend.
I am an avid Phasmo player with over 1k hours played. I played ToS for the first time last week and loved it! I loved the quality of life aspects of the game that Phasmo just doesn't have like bringing in a box full of items. Character customization is clean and organized, the ability to play with the warehouse and make it your own. I also dont remember the last time I screamed and was genuinely scared during an interaction. Its still an early access game and I'm not going to go into detail about the little things, it seems the dev and team are on top of bugs and crashes in their discord and making important changes quick rather than waiting to push a crap ton out at the same time, and this to me is important! Their discord community is also super friendly! Cant wait to see what they do next.
This game, especially for early access, is SO well made and you can feel the passion the devs put into it. 100 percent has the potential to surpass other games like phas or demonologist and, in my humble opinion, is already better than both in some regards! The only critique I have so far [which is likely to change upon full release] is that some events feel scripted. Example: The kitchen cabinet doors swinging open, Some more interaction and event diversity [perhaps ghost appearance too] would be nice, but those are honestly only tiny little nitpick critiques. Overall definitely devs I'll support in future and hope this game turns out as amazing as it seems like! <3
went to a house first thing that happends: a table gets thrown to my head try to detect what ghost it is gets unalived in under 5 minutes with around 50 hearattacks. 10/10 would play again.
It makes phasmo feel like child's play. This one is far more in depth, realistic and look's incredible (also they don't break their game every single update, almost like they have standards unlike Phasmophobia). I literally deleted Phas just to buy this and replace Phas with it, this ghost game is incredible. While yes, It's still in very early access, but it feels so much more polished than Phas does. This game has so much coming to it, and I cannot wait to see what it will offer!
Cool game. It has early Phasmophobia vibes which is great as the current version of Phasmophobia has been turned into a hardcore only experience and has lost a lot of features that made the game interesting both gameplay and horror-wise. Positives: -Nice graphics -Good animations (unlike Phasmo's student-level animation quality) -The phone mechanic is awesome and it doesn't even waste an inventory slot. You can track some of your equipment from your phone and even take pictures / selfies which can create a lot funny pictures -Very newbie friendly (unlike Phasmo). Ghosts don't speed up to Sonic level speeds in this game which actually allows you to escape the ghost in an intense chase -Being able to have multiple items turned on in your pocket which leads to a more pleasant evidence gathering experience -4 item slots + headgear + heavy item = way less stressful to carry around items. You can even bring in a box which allows you to carry even more items around, you just have to get them out of the box -Lots of big updates regularly (like early Phasmo!) -Multiple game modes -Lots of unique map scare events but there needs to be more ghost events as there doesn't appear to be many of those yet -Better customisation than Phasmo already even though the current quantity of options are currently just barely more than Phasmo -Seemingly strongly coded, rare to get a bug. One of the issues with Phasmo is that it has been giga buggy for years now and the devs don't seem to care about it. The only bug I've seen in this game is that the ghost will rarely get stuck on an object during a hunt -Actually useful tutorial (unlike Phasmo) that shows not only how to use the items but all the different evidence levels of those items. Neutral -Cleanse mode is generally more interesting than Identify mode (Phasmo mode, basically)... but Cleanse doesn't have the unique ghost types that Identify mode does. Cleanse is generally more interesting IMO but the ghost is simply generic every time. I hope this changes in a future update where the ghost would just randomly pick a unique ghost type to play. Negatives: -I dislike the whole "if your electronics are on then the ghost will know exactly where you are in a nearby radius" mechanic from both this and Phasmo. It feels completely unnecessary. Since you can have multiple items turned on at the same time in this game, if you plan on hiding nearby then it becomes a pain to quickly turn everything off in time. -Hiding in closets in this game seems to be pointless as the ghost can simply decide to check the closet like as if it was a regular room. Gameplay seems to encourage mostly just running away from the ghost and use the protection items to defend yourself. You can hide in small "box spots" which are a lot more reliable but I think hiding should be more of an option in general as it is more intuitive for newbies and it can be tense when the ghost is walking nearby -I bought the 1st HQ upgrade but it seems to have no advantage over the regular base (perhaps furniture limit increased??). I wanted a HQ to buy the first van upgrade but the first HQ base upgrade isn't good enough for it. It would have been nice if it told me the requirements on that so I knew I could skip the 1st HQ upgrade
Game contains undisclosed genAI content. So far I have seen it in some of the vehicle skins as well as a suspect article of clothing.
