If you like adventure games like King's Quest from Sierra, then this is the game for you. I especially like the fact that the puzzles aren't quite as "dangerous" as the old Sierra games -- I'm not sure you can die or get stuck without a place to go. The storyline was reminiscent of KQIV, complete with fairy tales, which were loads of fun. We did have one glitch where we had to restart because the game thought we had done something that we hadn't. So, I do recommend to save your game often in case there is a bug. However, this was a great couple of hours and I really enjoyed it.
It's a cute point and click adventure. It reminds me of the old Lucas Arts ones. Only this is much much shorter ( I beat it in 2 hours ) and also a bit rail like which is not a bad thing. The music is nice, the story is cute and does give you everything you need to beat it. I liked the announcer voice quit a lot and there are some good laughs to be had thanks to that feature. It's a fun lark but probably worth waiting until it's on sale just because the length is so short.
Picked this up on sale for a couple of quid, and was absolutely worth the money. It's definitely an homage to the adventure games of old, but not obnoxiously so. Aside from the obvious comparison to Loom, you mostly have to dig around for the little jokes and references. Enjoyed the lute mechanic, it's really made me want to play Loom again for the millionth time. :D
I had this game in my library for a couple of years by now, and I finally got in the mood to play it. It's very nice. Looks beautiful (the backgrounds especially), the music and voices are good, the setting is pleasant, the story is simple, but works very well within the game's world, and generally it's a game that's simply very pleasant to play and look at. It's short, I beat it in 4h and I'm not exactly an adventure games master, but for this price it's absolutely worth it. I just hope the sequel that's teased at the end does come out eventually.
