Well-made bullet heaven that's sadly too short. You can choose from 5 "shippies" but there is only a single map and all the shippies have the same quests which makes the gameplay loop redundant. I would only recommend the game to those who are looking to finish something with all achievements in one sitting.
Fun and short top-down shooter. Completed it in 1 sitting and I can definitely recommend it
"Zebrałuś" ? Naprawdę nawet w tak fajnej grze muszą być skaszanione zaimki?
I found myself more interested in the developer's write-up of the game than the game itself. That's not so much a criticism of what's here, but insights into the development process and sales history aren't something you often get to see behind the curtain. *Cozy Survivors* is serviceable enough as a survivors-like game, but it doesn't bring much new to the table beyond respecting the player's time. Each run lasts around 10 minutes, and there aren't any ridiculous requirements to unlock the available content, whether that's new weapons or ships. The ships do a good job of varying the playstyle. For instance, the final ship you unlock is a robot that you direct by choosing objectives such as seeking out an upgrade or completing a quest. It definitely boosts the difficulty, as you can't be sure if it will decide to go full-on kamikaze into a fleet of enemies. It's not a strong recommendation, but I picked it up for around $0.50 in a bundle, and at that price it felt worthwhile. Either way, I'm interested in seeing what the developer comes up with next.
Cozy Space Survivors offers a refreshing interpretation of the survivor-like genre by replacing dark settings and relentless tension with a colorful, comforting journey through the stars. Developed and published by simonschreibt, the game embraces a more relaxed philosophy without abandoning the addictive gameplay loop that has made the genre so popular. Instead of presenting an endless struggle for survival in bleak environments, it invites players into a vibrant universe where exploration, charming characters, and approachable action create an experience that feels both welcoming and rewarding. The result is a game that successfully balances casual accessibility with enough strategic depth to keep each run engaging. At its core, the gameplay revolves around piloting a small spacecraft that attacks automatically, allowing players to focus on movement, positioning, and collecting valuable resources while avoiding increasingly dangerous enemy swarms. Although this formula will feel familiar to fans of survivor-inspired games, Cozy Space Survivors distinguishes itself through its emphasis on exploration and interaction. Friendly NPCs scattered across each map offer quests and objectives that encourage players to venture beyond simply defeating enemies. These additional activities add purpose to every expedition, making exploration just as important as combat and helping each run feel more dynamic than a straightforward endurance challenge. Progression is handled with a satisfying sense of balance. Completing missions and defeating enemies rewards players with resources that unlock permanent upgrades, while additional ships introduce different playstyles and tactical possibilities. Weapon upgrades and passive enhancements create opportunities to experiment with various builds, ensuring that each run feels slightly different from the last. The progression system is intentionally streamlined, avoiding unnecessary grinding while still providing meaningful rewards that make future attempts feel more enjoyable and empowering. It respects the player's time by delivering a complete and polished progression loop without artificially extending the experience. The presentation is one of the game's strongest qualities. Its pixel-art visuals are bright, expressive, and packed with personality, transforming outer space into a cheerful playground filled with adorable creatures, colorful planets, and imaginative environments. Every location has its own distinct identity, making exploration consistently enjoyable throughout the adventure. Rather than relying on visual chaos, the game maintains impressive clarity even during crowded battles, allowing players to react comfortably while still appreciating the charming artistic direction. This cozy aesthetic gives the title a memorable identity that separates it from many other entries in the genre. The audio complements the visuals perfectly with a soundtrack that remains upbeat and relaxing without becoming repetitive. Gentle melodies create a peaceful atmosphere during exploration, while more energetic tracks subtly increase the excitement during larger encounters. Sound effects provide satisfying feedback for attacks, pickups, and upgrades while maintaining the game's overall calming tone. Together, the visual and audio design create an inviting experience that encourages players to settle in for "just one more run." Another notable strength is the game's accessibility. Automatic combat allows newcomers to jump in immediately without mastering complicated controls, while experienced players can still enjoy optimizing movement, choosing effective upgrade combinations, and completing objectives efficiently. Individual runs are relatively short, making the game ideal for brief gaming sessions without sacrificing a satisfying sense of progression. This concise structure also means failure never feels particularly frustrating, as every attempt contributes toward unlocking new content and improving future runs. The game's most noticeable limitation is its intentionally modest scope. Players searching for endless replayability, massive content pools, or highly elaborate progression systems may find that they can experience everything the game has to offer within a relatively short period. However, this brevity reflects a deliberate design choice rather than a flaw. Instead of relying on repetitive grinding or excessive content padding, Cozy Space Survivors delivers a focused adventure that remains consistently entertaining from beginning to end, leaving players with a sense of completion rather than exhaustion. Overall, Cozy Space Survivors succeeds by proving that survivor-like games can be both exciting and relaxing. Its combination of accessible gameplay, rewarding progression, charming exploration, lovable visual design, and thoughtfully paced content creates an experience that feels genuinely distinctive. While it may not offer the endless longevity of some larger titles in the genre, it more than compensates with polish, personality, and a welcoming atmosphere that makes every session enjoyable. For players looking for a lighthearted action game that values quality over quantity, this is an easy recommendation. Rating: 9/10
The game is very cheap, it's true. But after playing for 20 minutes it feels like I've seen it all. Yes, there are several more ships, but the things you do are all the same on the same map with the same enemies and quests, with the same flow. Additionally, there is no real variety in builds, or your decisions. You'll need a bit of everything (loot range, attack range, movement speed, attack speed, damage, regen). The only difference is which weapons you use, and it all boils down to "it's either explosions that scale from area damage, or it's lazers/bullets that scale from penetration and lazer/bullets damage", of which you'll also have a couple. So every run is also the same in terms of builds. The game rewards map knowledge, which is nice, but since there is only one map and it's small (which is ok since the run is also 10 minutes long), you'll know it after 2-3 runs. The art and sounds and humor are all very nice. If you played the demo, you saw more or less the entire game.
It's an okay VS style game but feels more like a demo than a full release as it's 2 hours long. Would only recommend if on sale or bundled. The different ship types are interesting (especially the last one) and I like all the weapons, but unfortunately there's not much enemy variety and every run feels the same. The objectives spawn in the same place so it gets easier every time you play. Would be better if objectives spawned randomly, and if there were more enemies and maps.
Schönes kurzweiliges Cozy Survior Game. Kein Stress immer etwas Progress und in ca. 8 - 10h mit allen Achievments durch gespielt.
It's a game that respects your time and that's pretty rare IMO. It's also fun. I went in expecting yet *another* Survivors-like that overstayed it's welcome and that's not what I got. GG
