The Nightmare Journey

The game had nice art but I didn’t understand what to do. First, you need a key to open the lock. The lock is not visible to the player, it only makes sound when you are right on it. You have to then try to see if there is something clickable. It’s bad game design to hope that the player just hovers over entire screens looking for stuff. Then when you get past that, there’s a switch on the wall and a piano where you have to press the keys in a correct sequence that you don’t know. You can find a wooden plank on the floor and use it to try and help you cross but it breaks and you fall down. I thought about jumping over but your character just jumps in a vertical position. You can’t move once you try to jump so I’m confused as to what the point is to jump? One problem is, is that you can’t click on any of the equipment things like the tab menu or the backpack. You have to press it on the keyboard. Also, the rock item picture was blocking the door so I couldn’t see it. I didn’t even realize that there was a door there. I changed back to a fist but still, I fail to see why the door isn’t even something visual in game. Anyways, in the second level I tried to make my way across the hole in the ground but I couldn’t cause the wooden board broke and I fell. I do not have time to solve cryptic puzzles. And I do not have time to backtrack and redo levels from the very beginning of the game if I die.

Gostei muito do jogo, arte do game é bonita, puzzles legais, recomendo.

Es es zwar coole Mechaniken und auch der Visuals sind auf ihre Weise ansprechend, allerdings gibt es Faktoren in diesem Spiel die sehr schnell sehr frustrieren können. Bereits zu Beginn habe ich meinen verworfenen Stein, welcher hinter einem sichtverdeckenden Prop im Vordergrund lag nicht wiederfinden können und musste daher neustarten. Der erste Bossgegner ist an sich nicht schwer, aber die Projektile sind im hinteren bereich quasi unausweichlich. Es ist auch insgesamt sehr dunkel und obwohl ich zu beginn die höchste Helligkeit festlegte, wurde scheinbar diese Einstellungen nicht übernommen. Für mich am verwirrendsten war: dass es zwei verschiedene Inventare gibt, nur aber eines davon per Tutorial erklärt wird. Die Story ist mir noch sehr schleierhaft, und es erinnert alles sehr an Limbo allerdings mit einer ganz eigenen Ästhetik. Für mich hat das Spiel zwar gute Ansätze aber die Durchführung lässt noch etwas zu wünschen übrig. Hintergrundmusik während dem Gameplay wäre auch wünschenswert gewesen um Atmosphäre aufzubauen zudem war das Sounddesign mehr als fragwürdig. Ratings: Dito: 3.2/5 Chat: 2.6/5 Gesamt: 2.9/5
