The Mermaid Mask

This.Was.Wonderful! A lovely very tight mystery that kept me guessing right till the end! I'd kill to know how they wrote up the mystery its such a dense knot that cooking that sort of thing up impresses the hell out of me.

My goodness, what an experience!!! 2 years ago I played "Crow Country" the first SFB Games production I had ever played, which has become one of my favorite experiences as of recent, and earlier this year I played through "Tangle Tower", and a week or so ago I finished this game, "The Mermaid Mask"! I am now completely onboard for whatever SFB Games makes going forward!! Y'all make whatever you WANT, I will be there DAY ONE! "Tangle Tower" was already a visual and puzzle-solving treat, and "The Mermaid Mask"not only delivers on its predecessor, but pushes its visual department further, the production values are a treat to behold: 3D Clues that you can view from different angles to discern more from them, [spoiler]FULLY ANIMATED SEQUENCES???BOTH WITH CHIBI 3D CHARACTERS AND 2D SEQUENCES????[/spoiler], and GOD, the COLOR PALETTES, part of my job revolves around Color Palettes, so trust me when I tell you that this game has some OUTSTANDING work on that department, every single locale in this game was a delight to discover. This game hooks you from the first minute and does not let go! The characters are all intriguing and fun to listen to absolute KUDOS to the every single Voice Actor in this game and the writers, some of them were grander than life, others felt people you might stumble upon on the street, and every single one of them was memorable on their own unique way! I WENT OUT OF MY WAY TO INTERACT WITH ALL OF THEM AS MUCH AS I COULD, THE GAME DIDN'T NEED TO PUSH ME OR TELL ME TO DO SO I JUST DID IT BECAUSE THEY ARE THAT GOOD!!! ACTUALLY STAYED UP PLAYING PAST MIDNIGHT A COUPLE TIMES!!! If you love puzzle games, point-and-click-adventure-games, fun characters, and mysteries that will keep you guessing, this is a VERY easy game to recommend, I would even dare to say you don't even need to play past entries to get into it! (But I would STILL recommend you do, because "Tangle Tower" is THAT fun).

Absolutely fantastic murder mystery game. Really well voice acted and done extremely well. Wonderful addition to the series :)

A very fun and whimsical detective experience. It definitely has a family-friendly tilt to it, so the puzzles won't be the most intricate you've ever seen, but they are still quite fun. This has been on my wishlist for well over a year (ever since I beat Tangle Tower), and despite delays is WELL worth the time and money. All of the characters are well animated and voiced, which is awesome for a game where dialog is 80% of the gameplay. They're all so memorable and lovable. This is a labor of love and it shows, which is a welcome reprieve in this gaming market. I'm looking forward to any additions to the series (or really anything by SFB; keep up the good work!!)

Mermaid Mask is a fantastic detective game! Perhaps one of the best. This is the kind of game that makes a great alternative to watching a movie with your family. It's a classic who-dunnit murdery mystery with puzzles and clues to solve, but designed in such a way that makes it really intuitive for anyone 12+ to follow and is highly interactive. Even though it feels like it was designed for younger audiences, it's extremely well written, with interesting and unique characters, and a narrative that feels fresh and enjoyable even for an older gamer. My friends daughter (12) was fully engrossed and coming to her own conclusions throughout playing. It helped her think critically about things like motive and inconsistencies, and a great alternative to sit passively watching another film or TV show. Overall, this is a great family friendly game and a great way to engage a younger audience in a way that gets them really thinking, and puzzles that will challenge you without being frustrating. Mermaid Mask is an easy 10/10 for what it's trying to be and who it's for.

Please do not let this be the last foray we have with the big DG and SS. I had never heard of this series and played all four games over a weekend, and then was actually stricken by severe depression knowing that there is no more. Especially with the Marmaids mask and Tangled Tower. They obviously have finally hit their stride with the series in these lat two games. This needs many many more games. Genuinely heartbroken theyre saying they cant do more because of how expensive and difficult it is, although i understand, but this game needs to get more momentum. People we need to convince SFB that they cant leave this IP to fester for a long time without more work into it. This is an all-timer series in this genre. Right now there is no modern equal. Buy the game, tell your friends who like this stuff, buy it for them if you can afford it, gush about it to strangers. It is the plug to fill the hole left in the wake of Layton and Phoenix Wright. It is the successor to these games. SFB please do not leave this to be forgotten too long. You have done something genuinely masterful here.
