PUMP IT UP RISE

I'm new to these types of games, it is incredibly fun with a dance mat, highly recommend for people looking for a fun way to improve their fitness :)

It's missing some songs from every arcade version of PIU, but it's alright. 10/10

Pump It Up is a Korean series of dance games similar to DanceDanceRevolution, but this game was designed to target the niche community of "Hand Pump" players who play PIU charts with keyboards and custom controllers, so you don't have to run out and buy an expensive dance pad to enjoy this game. That said, I think this game is at its best when it's treated as a companion to the arcade version. It's a fairly polished 5/6-key VSRG that's responsive and runs well [strike](ironically the codebase is more polished than the arcade version, where its "downscroll" flips the arrows vertically, making all the arrows look like the opposite of what they're supposed to be)[/strike] and it has a ton of originals from the arcade series with charts that are mostly the same as they were there (a few patterns are tweaked to be better for hand play but the charts stay mostly the same), though as a Phoenix newgen I am a little bothered that I have to pay for DLC to play the songs I'm most familiar with while the oldheads get a free pass. But on the plus side, I can finally buy the soundtracks of those games; I can finally listen to Euphorianic and Deca Dance whenever I want! The fact it is designed for hand play however means that it's not really a good way to learn PIU before hitting the arcades; your best option is still to go and play on a real cabinet. Keep in mind that since the charts have been modified, your chart memory won't transfer over 100% in either direction, and that by playing on a keyboard or a hand Pump controller you are missing out on learning muscle memory with your feet, which is the first thing you have to learn when playing arcade PIU. That said, I do think the game stands well enough on its own, but you should probably look at DJMAX and EZ2ON first before coming here. The real value for this game will kick in once Pump It Up Phoenix 2 launches on July 9, 2026 in Korea and July 20 in the rest of the world: By linking your AM Pass (an NFC card you can get at arcades carrying Pump It Up that lets you create an account and save your arcade progress by tapping in at the cabinet), you will be able to play charts from Rise in Phoenix 2 (though half-double charts won't count for Pumbility or Rank, meaning that it's mostly just for fun). This alone put Rise on my own radar as a Pump regular and is why I bought it on the Steam Summer Sale. I think it's a nice companion to the arcade series, and if you [i]really[/i] want to play PIU originals at home (which fair; a lot of them are really good), it has enough going for it to be worth getting -- though maybe wait for a sale like I did. This is pretty common for official home versions of arcade games these days; they are good enough, but are more often designed to serve as a companion to the arcade version so that you can't just replace the arcade wholesale. At least Pump It Up is widely available at arcades since Andamiro doesn't have a stick up their ass like Konami does.

El juego como base esta interesante, pero todavia hay muchas cosas que mejorar o agregar, asi como tambien arreglar. en el caso de los trofeos del juego, hay 2 logros que esta mal la descripcion o simplemente estan buggeados, los 2 de los secretos, que en warm up no salen los logros como hechos, mejoren esto en el proximo parche

할인 할 때 샀는데 생각보다 괜찮은 듯. 출시 때는 평이 별로라서 살 생각 안했는데 그 때 보다 개선이 많이 된 듯 하다, 라이즈 오리지널 곡도 맘에 든다

The songs they made are absolutely peak! especially in the vol1 section. the vol2 is even better but i just dont got the money to buy it.

El juego rítmico si cumple el legado de su versión en arcade y me encanta jugarlo por lo rítmico y divertido que es.

Если появился вопрос, а надо ли вам сюда - нет, не надо. Тем, кто сюда пришёл осознанно, объяснять ничего и не понадобится. Я сам тут оказался, потому что много лет оставил на аркаде PIU много лет назад. Чисто ностальгия. Это ж первая часть игры, которая оказалась на ПК. Было на приставках, даже на PSP, но самая очевидная платформа всё это время обходилась бесплатной STEPMANIA - opensource-клоном DDR/PIU. Серии танцевальных автоматов PIU уже больше 10 лет, оно собрало вполне конкретное задротское коммьюнити и, по сути, на них и живёт. Если взять любой трек выше 15 уровня сложности - это уже вполне себе тянет на термин "издевательство", если уже не для игры на клавиатуре, то на дэнспаде уж точно. Типичная азиатская помойка. Список треков - в большинстве своём мусор, как и во всех азиатских ритм-дрочильнях. Но даже если попадётся что-то приятное, вполне велик шанс испортить всё впечатление очередным ебанутым степчартом к нему. Не стоит думать, что это конкретно данный представитель франшизы такой. Неа, в нём вообще почти все треки - это сборники из предыдущих частей. И что обидно, многих из тех, что я в том числе помнил на любимом "Pump It Up NX", тут нет. И не только с него. Хочется попробовать - начните со STEPMANIA. Многим вполне себе на этом можно будет и закончить. Отдать несколько тысяч сюда - не самое лучшее вложение, если не является осознанным. P.S. В игру физически невозможно играть на ОБЫЧНЫХ клавиатурах, т.к. они (в т.ч. моя) не определяют больше 3 нажатий одновременно. А я уже писал, что тут степчарты ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥?..
