The Lords of The Earth Flame is a novel game created in the best traditions of interactive fiction and text-based role-playing. Non-linear structure, rich text core, and the “analog” feel of times past are certain to provide unforgettable gaming experience for hours on end.
Not Recommended
Recommended only if you find this for under 1€, or as part of a bundle!
Story
You have been hired by a merchant to guide his caravan. On the way, you encounter a blizzard and are forced to rest in a cave
(you can just ignore the cave and go through the forest to finish the game in under 3 minutes)
. Once trapped there, you have multiple paths that share similarities, but they are all worth exploring. If anything, it reminds me of Tolkien's Moria. The story would feel like a usual fantasy short story, with reasonable immersion, if it was not broken by a not small amount of typos and garbled sentences. It makes the whole plot rather hard to follow, and it casts a shadow over what could have been a relaxing journey.
Gameplay
Each set of pages has a drawing on the left-hand side, and text on the other page. Personally, I like the art style of this game, it reminds me of quick sketches one might do in a traveller's journal. While I like this type of narrative game, it would have been better if it had a save feature or some checkpoints, as it gets repetitive going through the same first few pages all the time. The achievements are easy to obtain, and add some incentive to playing the short story again and again. It would have been nice to also have a way to review your endings, and Parts, so that you would know what was the full intended story.
Conclusion
If you are die-hard fan of visual novel games, and you have finished everything else in your library, you can certainly play this.

A neat little game, although it is rather lacking in content. Only grab if it seems interesting/is on sale.
интересная игра можно убить пару часов )))
4/10 Текстовая РПГ, проходится крайне быстро, даже если смотришь все варианты происходящего. Сюжет не особо интересный, многие выборы банально сразу ведут к смерти.
