Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Every market we collect.
Charts
Each storefront's own chart, in its own country — the closest public signal to sales where none is published. A country missing from a list is one we don't collect there, not one where the game doesn't chart.
No United States chart position — it charts only in the markets below.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 4.57/day in the week to Sep 7 → 3.71/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 22 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,513 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About
The Life and Suffering of Prince Jerian is a narrative role-playing game telling the story of a cruel world, where lawbreaking is met with severe punishment, and a crown prince must decide the destiny of the land. Whether you rule maintaining the old order, or create a new future is up to you.
In the Great Arknian Empire, everyone’s life is determined by their birth. Such is the ultimate law laid down by the Twins, stern gods who divided society into Lots. The clergy shows people the right path, the nobles rule, and the commoners’ Lot is working and suffering in obedience. Your fate, however, is very different: to be the chosen of the gods, become their tool, and govern the entire nation.
You, Prince Jerian of the Tempest, must embark on a lifelong journey: starting as a child unaware of his destiny, and becoming an emperor for whose role you have been preparing since birth. As a crown prince, you will have to understand your country and its culture, but also make difficult choices affecting the fragile balance of powers in the Empire, and yourself.
Developed by the creators of The Life and Suffering of Sir Brante, the events of this new game take place in the same universe, but tell a completely different story. While The Life and Suffering of Prince Jerian inherits existing gameplay features, it also contains new mechanics reflecting the protagonist’s role and traits.

As a future ruler, you must learn the current state of the Empire. The treasury is running dry as the estates rise one against another, fighting for their interests. The church withers and sows hatred among the people, noble houses aspire to keep the old traditions, and commoners demand equal rights with the nobility. Pay attention to these circumstances and decide the country’s path while chasing your own goals.

The time will come, and the Emperor’s scepter will lie in your hands, but you feel its weight even now. You have to act immediately: you are the only one able to change the course of history, to unite or shatter the country. Make difficult choices that affect the nation and you alike. Promises given to yourself might become your most unbearable burden. Every decision brings consequences, and your mistakes will be paid for by the entire Empire.

You were given power by birth, but the cost of such majesty is your own ambition. You are shackled not only by the outside world and its circumstances, but also by your soul. Thinking of who you are, who you want to be, and who the Empire wants to see in you, such is your lot. Making a choice of your own requires a sacrifice. Following the political situation and your family’s demands might drive you mad. Will you save yourself or allow your soul to shatter into pieces?

Be careful in choosing your allies: those who you keep close will shape your character and affect your decisions. Your family, your subjects, nobles and commoners alike, every single one wants your attention and patronage. Help one, and you will lose the support of another. Whether you succeed in maintaining the fragile balance of the Empire or let it all burn down in civil war will be decided by you.

Not only are you the crown prince, but also the Primate, who connects the worlds of the living and the divine. You and your family of the Tempest are the keepers of the Pact, a “testament” between the Twins and those who live by their will. Can it be changed without dooming the world? You will find the answer yourself.

The power that you possess is not an end, but a means. You are destined to save the world entrusted to you by your ancestors and gods. What future awaits the New Empire, and who will benefit? Whose sufferings will end, and whose will begin? Only time will tell.

A worthy successor to Sir Brante, Sir Jerian takes a much broader picture of the world and the Arknian Empire. While Brante's journey was a social conflict in miniature, sequestered to one province, you look over the world from the peak of the Empire's throne, with lots more to balance and more acts to work with. I'm interested to see where the devs go on with the Life and Suffering series, and IF they go on with it. Personally, it's a hidden gem of both rp and vn franchises, and the worldbuilding within it is immaculate, so I hope to see more, but hidden gems usually don't make as much money as gems on display.
Top Game, i hope for next Story !!!!

I played Life and Suffering of Sir Brante couple years ago and the moment I saw that they were making a sequel I was looking forward to the release. First of all, I want everybody to know that this game is not a game where you get to choose everything as you would. Let me explain: According to the choices you make, you also shape Jerian's identity and if the choice you want to make and the identity of Jerian is incompatible, you will not be able to choose that choice. Clashing interests of Old and New Faith, Humans and Arknians, Nobles and Commoners will drag you into making decisions you normally never would. Sometimes you will have to act only to improve the opinion of somebody you hate, for reaching your target ultimately. Some people might find these very limiting and frustrating but i think It makes you feel that you need to carefully design your path deciding when and whom to make compromises even though you are soon to be the most powerful person in the empire. It makes you to feel like and think like a politician. The game teases you the choices of most important turning points of a chapter and their requirements. This may lead some players to think that they are choosing nothing, just blindly trying to fill some stat bars. However, I strongly disagree. Let's say the opinion of X should be greater than 1 to be able to choose a path. That doesn't mean that you will blindly and always choose everything that satisfies X. You need to answer questions like: "In which events should I choose something that will improve X's view", "Do I want to take this decision even if I know it will infuriate X", "Can I postpone improving my relations with X, should I take this risk?". There are a sufficient number of events to choose from to pursue your goals, which prevents you to feel like you are just "filling the bars" by choosing things that you don't want. It encourages you to thoroughly think and plan before you decide. If you are interested in the universe of the game, some of the things left unanswered in the first game are shown to us which was something I wanted to see. General story of the game is good, the game has interesting characters to engage with. Political atmosphere and incidents in the empire are portrayed well. Addition of sanity source (I dont remember the actual name but it resembles your mental stability and cannot be regained) and legacy of the tempest points (which you can regain by some ways) are also good touches that lets you defy your identity to make the choice you want (uses sanity) or unlock choices that are locked because you are inadequate (uses legacy of the tempest points). I recommend this game for everybody who wants to witness the fate of The Blessed Arknian Empire alongside with Prince Jerian. If you like interactive fiction or choices matter genre or you have played Life and Suffering of Sir Brante, give it a chance.
Very good sequal to the original. It has a little bit less of a personal feel compared to Brante...HOWEVER, I think that this style of game is actually an upgrade in many ways to the prior. Highly recommend to anyone who loves story rich games. Credit to Schisma for another great release!
Great game, just like Brante but bigger and better in every way. Highly recommended.

Gut genug, aber erstes Spiel war besser
후반부 번역이 아쉽긴 하지만, 전작 대비 선택에 따른 대가를 더 고려하게 만드네요. 주말동안 몰입하면서 즐겁게 했습니다.
