New arc, new setting, new characters, new engine. Falcom introduces the new era of Trails games in Calvard. Like its predecessors, we in for a slow start. This game brings us around the big cities of Calvard with stops to the nation's outskirts. Focused on Van Arkride and its episodic-like characters joining the party. There is a lot of banter we see between party members that feels goofy and light-hearted like the Sky series. The plot is fine with callbacks to Reverie and sets up critical hints for the future. The music is great a feels experimental with the different instruments and synths. Paired with the jazz that plays in the cities and battle themes, it reminds me a little of the Sky series. With the new engine we have new improved models, effects, and cutscenes. The whole package feels stylized in Falcom's vision. Especially with the cutscenes bring in new hype moments and character introductions. And we can see the payoff in the game especially with the action cutscenes first shown in Reverie. Along side these awesome animations is the new combat gameplay. We introduced to a more arpg style of gameplay on the field/overworld. Attacking, dodging, and landing heavy hitters to fight the enemies. Of course we still have our turn based timeline gameplay by activating shards in the field. Now we have the option to move freely and decide on an action to end our turn. As well as freely choosing whom to follow attack with. The orbment system is also reworked with a combination of what we see in the previous games. With matching multiple elements giving turn based passives but also keeping the core of cold steel with specific arts in a different menu. Really enjoyed this new arc. Also you meet Kiryu Kazuma at a strip club. Plus Van is Jotaro Kujo in Japanese. 7/10

Jogazo. Narrativa boa, a melhor para o 1 jogo de uma saga e a melhoria no sistema de combate é uma adição bem vinda
i think my playtime speak for itself but genuinly... such a great game, i loved the return to a slighly larger main cast and each setting the game explored, especially the whole story revolving fixing vans personal issues that said, i do think it has one of, if not the weakest main battle theme, it just dosnt fit the vibe of a grey private detective skirting the law all day, its just a bit too upbeat, and sure, its a nice foil to vans issues but you dont always need a foil, here it just comes across as ''van is a brooding lone wolf OH but heres some upbeat battle music!''
