Reviews
This game fundamentally misunderstands what made Hotline Miami so fun and addicting. Instead of dynamic, lightning-paced gameplay where you learn from your errors, the game wants you to lean on a feature that slows everything down - focus. Every engagement becomes piss easy if you use focus. It slows down enemy rate of fire & bullet travel speed. Why would I want to slow down? The music is pumping, the visual feedback and sound effects from kills are satisfying, guns have a rhythm, why would I want to slow down? I'm trying to go fast. You don't even get to chain kills in a satisfying way because rooms for some unknown reason are as vast as the Pacific Ocean, and enemies are scattered on every side. Even if you book it to the next corner as fast as you can, you won't make it there in time to save your combo. It also appears the enemies have run out of ♥♥♥♥♥ to give as no one runs towards you when they hear gunfire, they just sit there and wait until you open the door to their room so they can shoot you. There also don't appear to be any melee weapons, so combat variety is pretty low as you're likely going to stick to automatic weapons. In twenty minutes this game managed to annoy me enough that I'd rather just play something else.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Very good soundtrack and artstyle, but it fundamentally misunderstands what made the two hotline miami games good, and unfortunately it even goes back on certain changes made by HM2 from HM1 (looking at you, enemies that randomly tank one more bullet for no reason) The roguelike aspect of the game is repetitive and limited. You replay very similar sections often trying to get to the end. It got tiring after a while. There's no real melee aside from kicking. Lacking enemy design, and enemies are tanky compared to HM2 which forces you to abuse focus to stay alive. Focus. Bs mechanic that must be abused to stay alive at the expense of the gameplay's natural flow and soundtrack (as it distorts and slows the song playing) Basically no post launch changes made to fix any criticism. I'd pass unless you are desperate for a Hotline Miami alternative and willing to replay the same game 50 times basically.
Probably one of my favourite soundtracks that happens to have a really cool game attached to it
As it turns out I only need roadhouse to win
Hotline Miami's gameplay as a roguelike. Love the aesthetics LOVE the soundtrack LOVE the gameplay. One of the more satisfying roguelikes out there.
A fast, stylish roguelite shooter that absolutely nails its flow once everything falls into place. The blend of slow-motion gunplay, aggressive movement, and randomized runs keeps every attempt exciting. It feels like a love letter to Hotline Miami while still carving out its own identity with deeper progression and build variety.
I'm not usually into rougelikes but Otxo is one of the rare exceptions. Beaten the game 3 times and I still come back to it. Very hard but also incredibly fun. Just remember to play in bursts and take breaks so it dosen't become too repetative.
> i get abducted on a train and my wife is missing > pay random bartender for magical liquor > kill a bunch of guys with masks with a shotgun while drunk off said magical liquor > kill giant metal snake > kill more guys > guy in rocket wheelchair kills me 10/10
