Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.43/day in the week to Sep 3 → 1.14/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,515 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
so damn good if you have the patience
LET ME STAYYYYYYYYYY!!!!
I miss the chibi art style of the older games, but overall the transition to 3d isn't bad at all. I like the new art style and the 3rd dimension adds more detail to everything. The combat is great, was skeptical of the new quartz/arts system, but I got used to it as I played the game, and by the end I enjoyed creating builds for the characters. Story is solid, you get a lot more out of it if you've played the previous games in the series. Soundtrack is full of bangers, characters are fun (if a little predictable). English voice acting is good. Does end on a bit of a cliffhanger (but what else is new lol). Looking forward to playing the next one.
Muito bom
It took me longer to get into this arc than the previous two, but once I settled in, I enjoyed the story and combat greatly. While I do miss the previous iteration of the quartz and arts system, tying arts directly to quartz did save me time and allowed for some hyper-focused builds.
Another great entry in the Legend of Heroes line of games. Coming from the Sky games and Crossbell games (The first two arcs of the story), CS1 felt like the weakest game so far. Im a fan of Persona, but it feels like the addition of the schooltime didn't really fit with the games. I did enjoy seeing the classmates and teachers and town throughout the game (a praised feature of any LoH game is talking to NPCs when they update their dialogue as the story progresses), the schoolhouse segments and hangouts with classmates were pretty bog standard. The combat is, once again, pretty stellar. Magic isn't as useful as Crafts (character skills) and spamming debuffs/status effects wins the game. It's also the easiest entry with only one or two bosses being "hard". The final boss was a complete misstep compared to any previous game. The story starts off slow (another standard feature for a LoH game at the beginning of an arc) but ends with a bang. I immediately had to install Cold Steel 2 to continue the adventure, and let me say the slow build up really panned out well for the game. I'd still rate Crossbell being my favorite arc so far and Sky is right alongside it, but Cold Steel did deliver the goods in a way I was worried it wouldn't. If you're wondering if you should jump in with Cold Steel, most people agree you can. As mentioned above, there are two story arcs (comprising 3 and 2 games) that DO factor in to the story of Cold Steel, but you CAN play Cold Steel first. It WILL spoil major plot points of Crossbell (Zero/Azure) but if Cold Steel grabs you as an entry point it's a-ok to start here. Just know it's best to play these games in "release" order. Sky 1/2/3 (Liberl Arc) -> Zero/Azure (Crossbell Arc) -> Cold Steel (Erebonia Arc). But you CAN start with Cold Steel...a lot of people do then go back and play the others that came before it. Sky is being remade with the second chapter coming out this year, so play that if you want basically the best Legend of Heroes games around with modernized graphics/gameplay. Literally 10/10 JRPGs. I guess back to the actual review, I really enjoyed Cold Steel. It was not the best in the series so far, but it's hardly bad. The gameplay is tight and the characters are a joy to be around. The slow build of conflict pays off in the end.
