I am a sucker for isometric shooters ala Alien Shooter, and this one brought back memories of those games, however I noticed some things that I think really turned down the enjoyment, though that could also be a design choice, we'll see. The first thing I noticed, is that the game is a product of love from the dev/s and that this is clearly an indie game at a very low price, so I am willing to look to the side in some aspects, such as French text mixed up with English or cheesy voice lines and sound effects that are clearly not mixed. The one thing that I cannot let go of is the hit detection/hitboxes. Everything feels.... floaty, and while the animations do help indicate you've hit an enemy, it still feels detached, with some delay and lack of contact that makes you stare at an enemy for just a few milliseconds more just to make sure you actually hit that shot, which to me, is off-putting. The other thing that, in my eyes, I cannot properly forgive is the balance. You see, when you start the game, you and your motorcycle only need to focus on the road ahead and the alien enemies you come across. Very shortly after though, you start to get attacked by flying enemies as well, and there is so little time between those two "stages" (enhanced by the lack of balance in terms of power ups or amount of enemies), that you start to lose health really soon. You'd think that getting upgrades, better weapons (the sniper rifle being the best IMO) or better motorcycles would help, but they do not, as there is no clear power up that allows for regenerating health, or a gun power up that really addresses the amount of enemies on screen after only like 2 minutes. These two are the reasons I am saying no for now. They can be easily changed, and I believe they should be, in order to make the game more fun and challenging.
game is super fun kinda challenging VERY arcade like which adds to the charm of it all that's missing is the joystick and big red button to play with definitely recommend this game if you like arcade style games will continue to play this works on steam deck pretty well also
Small funny game. Drive - avoid enemies and shooting.
[EN] This game is truly remarkable. The atmosphere is really cool. Graphically, it harks back to the old arcade games, and it would be even better if it could be played on an arcade machine so that I could spend hours trying to make it into the top 10. The soundtrack is equally impressive, with fantastic French voice acting and completely outrageous lines that fit perfectly with the post-apocalyptic ambiance. I can't wait to see what the future holds for this game. The gameplay system resembles that of a vampire survivor. There are levels with progressions to upgrade weapons and deal more damage, as well as the collection of blood that allows you to come back into the game with different bikes or an even more powerful weapon (yeah, a crazy missile launcher).
Game is fun, but the dev has seemingly abandoned it. No updates or news since release (4 months). There are still placeholder systems in the game that say "coming soon" or something similar, so it does not seem like this lack of progress was intended. Unfortunate.
It's pretty solid so far. Hoping for the Lab to introduce new upgrades like stat boosts. Unlocked all but one gun and bike so far. Endless mode is nice. Looking forward to the updates.
I really enjoy the game concept. However, I feel that the game could benefit from some balancing adjustments. The mechanics of splitting, piercing, and bouncing bullets create a visually overwhelming experience where the entire screen becomes a storm of bullets. While this can be fun initially, it can get repetitive and lose its appeal over time. Additionally, I encountered an issue with the first boss, as it seems impossible to defeat even with fully upgraded weapons. I believe that addressing these concerns would greatly enhance the overall enjoyment of the game.
