I went in without any expectations, but the graphics and some of the gameplay I saw appealed to me. When I booted up the first level, I did not expect it to be an Autorunner. Jack or Jill does not stop after the A button has been pressed, and it's up to you to press the A button whenever s/he needs to jump or avoid an obstacle. At first this all felt very simple for me, but with every so many levels and each new world, Jack N' Jill DX adds some more gameplay variety to keep the experience fresh. Suddenly you'll end up walljumping and flying like Flappy Bird. All very welcome additions, and as a result I kept coming back for more. The latter upgrades were slightly less impressive (particularly the clouds) and the later levels also became pretty long and re-used a lot of previous puzzles which dragged on. There are a few pixel-perfect jumps, but resets are fast and they overall were easily distinguishable so they didn't give me too many issues. Coins in stages can be used to play minigames which are a decently fun distraction. They also give tickets which unlocked a good variety of screen filters and skins for the playable blobs. They are simple rewards, but I enjoyed working for them. What I didn't enjoy working for were the achievements. A lot of Achievement Hunters will probably hate me for saying this, but I hate that all achievements unlock within the first half hour, while there is a legit game beyond that half hour. To add insult to injury, there is an actual achievement list in-game with far more achievements, but they are not used. While there was enough to do in game, I feel less rewarded than I would have if the Achievements were the ones present in the game itself. It's a tiny nitpick on an otherwise surprisingly fun game. Beyond the nostalgia factor, the idea of a one button platformer with game boy esthetic is cool. it's a bit strange to have a character who can only jump and move forward automatically it can be hard to manage, the timing must be really tight and the gameplay goes in that way. It's a curious mix between kirby and super meat boy. I recommand it.
This game is...fine. Would work better as a mobile game. The levels change later from quick reactions to trial and error, which is a bit annoying but, meh.
This is just a classic platformer game, where you are either jack or jill, and you reach the other one of you. After completing every level, I have to say this game is probably one of the best platformers on steam.
This game is incredibly fun and addictive. It is a minimalistic platformer where you have to jump your way through 140 levels. But don't be fooled by its appearance; some levels can be pretty challenging. If you jump too early or too late, you will not be able to make some jumps. As you progress through the levels, new mechanics will be introduced, such as flying, climbing up and down ladders, activating switches, jumping off walls, elevators and moving platforms, and being shot from cannons. And all you will ever need is one button. In terms of level design, I really think this is a great achievement. You can 100% by completing the first world alone, and after you finish the 140 levels, a new mode is unlocked. Also, you can customize your character by playing minigames. All in all, it is a great little game for a great little price. Highly recommended to all sorts of players.
Genre
Ein 2D Plattformer
Gameplay

Follow Main group
 Follow Second group
 Follow third group
This is one of the games u can play with 1 hand.... Because u only need to jump :D + 140 levels, 7 Minigames and many challenges to achieve + Retrostyle black and white incl. Music which reminds u a bit to the old Gameboy + Catchy music + Cute art - Music gets a bit monotone after a while 3,99 Euro and 0,39 Cents on sale For 0,39 Cents You get very very much for your money
Jack N' Jill DX is a great platform game with one-button controls and a lot of additional content (unlockable abilities, new level packs, minigames, and challenges). Basically the premise is that you must help a little blob named Jack avoid obstacles on his way to meet his blob friend Jill. Being a blob, he doesn't like getting punctured, so most of the early obstacles are spikes or spiky things that kill on contact. Click the button/hit the spacebar and the level begins, with Jack sliding along, hurrying to meet Jill. Pressing the spacebar/clicking the mouse tells him when to jump. It's mechanically very simple, but gets more complicated and challenging fairly quickly. The control is responsive and precise; though he died a LOT, Jack never died in my plays of the game in a way that I thought was unfair or in any way due to anything other than my pressing the spacebar at the wrong time. It's a good game. If you like platform games (like me), then you will enjoy Jack N' Jill DX.
Fun little platformer with a good amount of content.
