XD
an awesome and trippy sequal. it really just turns up the mind bending and grim tone from the first season and it's to great effect. after I finish the game, I wait just long enough that I forget most of the puzzles so I can play it again.

Buenísimo
This game is a letdown. My review will consider The Last Door Season 2 as a sequel to the first season and not a stand-alone game. Graphically, it's the same as TL1, but slightly better. Just a little bit. The art style is good, but the graphics just can't deliver it, unfortunately. I'd like to talk about the two things that makes this game a letdown. First: The imagery. It's weak, very weak. You have the basic, shadow humanoid monsters, huge eyes, crows, fog, and that's basically it. That's acceptable for the first game, where you're being introduced to this world, but here that's all we get? Something a child would think it's scary? This kind of horror works perfectly in books, from which the devs seems to have took a lot of inspiration from, since you have to imagine everything and the horror is as scary as your imagination allows. But this is not a book, this is a game, the visuals should have been a key aspect of the experience, but again, unfortunately, the limitations of what the devs could do didn't allow them to deliver a truly scary and unsettling experience. Second: The story. It's okay at best. You have a cult trying to go to a dark magical world. This also works in the first game which was introducing everything, but here? it doesn't go that far. You're looking for Devitt, then you discover more about the cult and then you decide to put an end to it. As i said, it's okay, not bad nor good, just okay. The ending is nothing great as well. I think the devs wanted to do something big, but didn't have the experience or resources to realize it. Well, at least Blasphemous actually delivers the imagery this game lacks. Not recommended because this is an okay game on it's own and a horrible sequel.

Pretty good game! I have a similar opinion of this game as I do to the previous entry, but overall, very enjoyable point-and-click experience. I will admit, by this point in the story, I lost track of many of the character names and their relationships to each other, and it was hard to tell most of them apart visually due to the simple art style... the text colors did help, but even then, I tended to forget who was who, especially in regards to characters from the previous game who we haven't seen in a while! But thankfully, even if you lose track of individual characters, the story is still understandable when it comes to the basic plot. The areas to explore are expanded, which is good and bad. Good, because there's simply more to see and play around with visually, but bad in that there's more backtracking now between areas, and I felt as though the "world map" was kind of funny considering how few locations there actually were. The story is still a bit Lovecraft, a bit King in Yellow, but now they're mixing in some Wickerman and some Dante's Inferno. I did find some of the references to other horror media a bit exhausting at the end, but I think their actual world lore is original enough to stand on its own (or maybe I just haven't read some of the stories they are referencing. When you lean this heavily on other works, it's easy to assume that all the concepts come from somewhere else, even if they didn't). I'd play more games set in this world, and I'm interested in some of the concepts they mentioned, but didn't delve into deeply. Let me peek beyond the Veil! I can be trusted with the Veil, I promise!

Sublime point'n'click.
