This is a great game! My favorite horror game. I'm not even into horror games at all but this game is so unique in a way and the story is very interesting also the music and sound design is amazing.

Really good short and effective horror game. A little bit Lovecraft and a little bit King in Yellow-- I can't wait to play the sequel and get some more answers! My biggest critique is that it's hard to see what items are clickable sometimes because of the low pixel density (I missed a few that are literally only a pixel or two large), but the puzzles are generally forgiving and the areas are small enough that you won't waste much time backtracking. The music is also very beautiful, and the sound effects are effective. There are a few jumpscares/jump scares!
This game is good. And keep in mind, this review is only for this game, not taking the sequel into consideration. The story is inspired by the works of writters like Lovecraft and Edgar Allan Poe, not as good, but decent enough to intrigue and introduce you to this world. The story doesn't end in this game, so i'll let to speak more about it on the second one's review. The pixel art style in this game is... kinda ugly. Not ugly "poorly done", but ugly "small game made by a small studio with backers support in 2014". So the pixel art is simplistic and ugly, but i can understand why and even see some charm in it here and there. Also, this is the studio who made Blasphemous around 5 years later, so it's crazy seeing how much they improved in such a short amount of time. The gameplay is, well, you point and click at things, that's it. There are puzzles in this game, obviously, but they're mostly just fine, except for a few ones which can get annoying due to their crazy solutions.
Like one where you need a red lamp, so you grab a normal lamp and cover it with blood from a deer corpse or one where you have to put a tear on one of the Virgin Mary's eyes and reflect light on it in order to fake a miracle. ffs
This game has a very nice mechanic. If you already entered a room, you can double click it to enter immediately without having to wait for the character to walk there. But you can't highlight interactibles, what a bummer. Recommended because what's in this game is good, a bit rough around the edges, but good, especially considering its scope.
I absolutely recommend this game. It's slow burning, but the atmosphere that it creates is bleak but thick. It's an immersive story, with a very Edgar Allen Poe vibe. It has plenty of Gothic stapes: Secret Societies, empty mansions, desolate countryside, graveyards, crypts and a mystery at this game's core. Will you be able to solve it?
The Last Door - Collector's Edition is a very well made game, released as four episodes. The main strengths of the game are the music, the audio design, featuring unsettling ambient sounds, and the story. The puzzles are fun, and can be solved logically. I recommend this to point and click adventure fans.

Aunque no te gusten los point and click.
