As a kid I grew up playing all sorts of point + click adventure games, and only a couple have really stuck with me for life. The Last Door is one of them. I remember playing this on my family computer with Flash, RIP, and I fell in love. Seriously this game is amazing, and I don't want to spoil ANYTHING, cause that would ruin the fun. But this game is a masterpiece. The music is great, the puzzles are fun, and the atmosphere + horror are f*cking amazing. Great, great story you have made, Game Kitchen. I hope that Game Kitchen comes back to The Last Door, or another stylized point+click. I wholeheartedly recommend this game, and its Second Season as well.
This is a great game! My favorite horror game. I'm not even into horror games at all but this game is so unique in a way and the story is very interesting also the music and sound design is amazing.
This game is good. And keep in mind, this review is only for this game, not taking the sequel into consideration. The story is inspired by the works of writters like Lovecraft and Edgar Allan Poe, not as good, but decent enough to intrigue and introduce you to this world. The story doesn't end in this game, so i'll let to speak more about it on the second one's review. The pixel art style in this game is... kinda ugly. Not ugly "poorly done", but ugly "small game made by a small studio with backers support in 2014". So the pixel art is simplistic and ugly, but i can understand why and even see some charm in it here and there. Also, this is the studio who made Blasphemous around 5 years later, so it's crazy seeing how much they improved in such a short amount of time. The gameplay is, well, you point and click at things, that's it. There are puzzles in this game, obviously, but they're mostly just fine, except for a few ones which can get annoying due to their crazy solutions.
Like one where you need a red lamp, so you grab a normal lamp and cover it with blood from a deer corpse or one where you have to put a tear on one of the Virgin Mary's eyes and reflect light on it in order to fake a miracle. ffs
This game has a very nice mechanic. If you already entered a room, you can double click it to enter immediately without having to wait for the character to walk there. But you can't highlight interactibles, what a bummer. Recommended because what's in this game is good, a bit rough around the edges, but good, especially considering its scope.

Excelente point and click
7/10
Bom
Casque, nuit, frisson garanti. Musique 10/10
