I works perfect on the Steam Deck and Linux. It has great and balanced puzzles. I never got stuck for long. New mechanics are slowly introduced at the perfect pace. A good game to kill some time while it also looks gorgeous.
This is the world's first cube type game. It's like a hybrid of EDGE and Stephen's Sausage Roll. It really makes you FEEL like a cube. I went in with low expectations and have completed the first two "sides" (six levels) and you know what? I'm impressed. This is a solid game. I wasn't sold on the hint system initially, but it only works when near a ground switch, and in that way, to me, it serves as a subtle teaching tool to intuitively ingrain maneuvers into your head that you can re-use later, like to line yourself up so you can spread your tattoo onto a side surface, or get yourself on a ledge with the red tattoo facing up. Update after beating the game: The puzzle design in this game is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ incredible. I did NOT expect this level of quality from a game named "The Last Cube". It really is on the level of quality I'd expect from Sausage Roll. Even after beating the main game's levels and getting all the trinkets (including the hub ones), the game was still throwing new ways to use its mechanics at me. It was after I exhausted the main levels and purple secret that I began working at the bonus levels, and right off the bat, bonus 1 throws a seemingly impossible puzzle at you that you have to use the red powerup to get the friend cube to roll over you to solve. The red powerup was introduced in side 2.

I am so happy with games like this. I only wished for a dedicated level builder and this game would have a living steam workshop. maybe in the first cube, the sequel @devs?
The Last Cube is a very underrated, extremely solid puzzle game, definitely one of my favorites I've played in recent years. It's pretty simple on the surface and not too hard overall, but it does have some headscratchers and bonus puzzles. The rules are simple: as a cube, you travel through a grid and can use stickers that are located on the ground or on walls to use certain powers as long as said sticker is on the top of the cube. Blue stickers allow the cube to rotate while standing still, for example, and purple stickers allow you to teleport up to three spaces. Most of the puzzles are about maneuvering your cube so the right sticker is on top of the cube at the right time to activate switches or traverse obstacles. There are a few interesting mechanics scattered throughout the 6 worlds and 24 levels in total (18 normal levels + 6 bonus levels), such as ice, lasers, mud, clones and more. The game's aesthetic is very clean, there is an attempt at cube lore and the soundtrack was a pleasant surprise as well. You can find hidden lore relics and attempt challenges such as solving a level in a certain time or with a certain number of steps, so there is some replayability if you want to 100 % the game, which took me about 12 hours. Overall, I had a great time with The Last Cube - it is logical, Trial & Error is never needed, the difficulty almost always hits all the right notes and I'd venture so far as to say that it's one of the best (and most underrated) puzzle games on Steam. It's very well designed and if you are at all into 3D puzzle games (or cubes), The Last Cube should be on your radar!
Excellent game for lovers of puzzle games like The Talos Principle or Portal. There is a good amount of content, and the puzzles are just the right amount of challenging without being annoying.
I'm writing this review after 100%'ing the game, having enjoyed it quite a bit. As you can see from my playtime (19 hr) it has a decent amount of content, contrary to the negative review that complained of this. While there are technically 3 main levels for each sticker (18 total), this is kind of misleading. Each "level" is really just a themed area where a series of maybe 3-6 puzzles are set. So with the 6 bonus levels, there are probably about 100 puzzles which seems pretty standard. Each level also has a challenge (least steps, timer, sticker number limits, other level-specific rules) and some hidden relics to find. The puzzles are well-designed and challenging without being masochistic. Some little-mentioned positives that I appreciated: * Doesn't waste your time with tasks not relevant to an actual puzzle. E.g. it never forces you to backtrack for stickers you couldn't have known you would need. This would've been a cheap way to lengthen the game, but the stickers you need are always readily at hand. Groups of a certain type of sticker are also made available in situations where it's advantageous to tile your entire cube, which would be tedious if you only had one tile available. * When leaving a level, exiting the game, etc., it always tells you specifically how much of your progress you will keep/lose. * It's very easy to see at a glance which level relics/challenges you are still missing, from most locations in the hub. * Relics are not just counted, but numbered, so you can tell whether ones you missed are ahead of or behind the current relic. * Cube rolling speed is increased in the hub And here are my (minor) complaints: * I basically meet the recommended video card specs, and far exceed the others. Performance was fine, but my GPU fans were spinning like crazy the entire time I played this. * The game doesn't generally waste your time, but each level's challenge is only revealed after completing it the first time. So you have to play through at least twice to fully clear it, which felt like padding. Maybe they didn't want players getting frustrated by attempting it their first time through. * After failing a challenge, you can hold "R" to restart the level or from the last checkpoint. Why isn't this available all the time? This is particularly annoying with timed challenges, because you don't fail until you exceed the time. But sometimes you know early on that you're moving too slow. * Some sort of undo feature would've been nice, to handle the case where you accidentally pick up the wrong sticker or fall off a platform. * The menu was often pretty janky and would not respond to clicks (hitting enter or space on the keyboard with the option highlighted seemed to work). * The camera was kind of weird in a way that I can't pinpoint but have felt on other games before. It wasn't laggy and didn't negatively impact the game, but it felt like if I swung it slightly too fast, the camera would "jump" to a new position rather than glide through the space. Didn't feel great. * Manipulating the faces of the cube the way you want can be pretty fiddly even when it's not the focus of a puzzle - just due to the nature of a cube's geometry. There is a hotkey to relieve the tedium of this by showing you what moves are required to activate nearby buttons, which is appreciated, but I wonder if this could've been solved by having a different class of buttons that would activate if the proper sticker was present *anywhere* on your cube. Maybe they thought this would be too confusing; there are already two types of buttons - ones which activate permanently and ones that activate only while you are pressing them (or are timed). So this might've necessitated a total of 4 buttons instead of 2. * The beginning of a level often has a short introductory sequence, which was annoying to have to repeat if you had to restart a level. A checkpoint should've been set at the start of the first puzzle.
除了限时挑战和限步数挑战以外都还可以 奖励关卡的难度还行,其他的都不算太难 靠近开关时能够显示路径的功能很有意思
Solid puzzle game with a creative premise. The core game has some real head-scratchers, and the challenges add difficulty wherever you thought it to be missing. Completionists will have plenty to go after. Visuals, mechanics, and audio are all well done. I recommend for any puzzle game enjoyers
