About
Lured in by shared nightmares, madmen travel to a remote island crowned by a silent Tower. No one remembers the journey.
The Lantern of the Laughless Saint is an open world RPG built around exploration and connection. You learn the land by walking it, following rumors, reading scraps of burned history, and meeting lost souls who wandered to the ends of the Earth, following the same feverish dream of a light buried beneath the Tower.
Somewhere in the depths is a theater with an empty stage, waiting for an audience. As you repair or ruin the lives of the island's inhabitants, the phantoms they leave behind take their seats in the audience. The more seats you fill, the more the island listens, and the greater the applause for your final act.
And if you don’t want to descend alone, you don’t have to. The entire game is fully playable in co-op: explore the island together, delve into the depths for treasures, and make the choices that will decide the fate of everyone on the island, and beyond...
A wild, ancient island to explore
Follow leads, find shortcuts into the Tower, stumble into side stories, and piece together what is real and what is mere delusion.
Open Ended
Most quests have multiple resolutions. Mercy, violence, compromise, deceit.
A large cast of bizarre characters
Many strange folk find their home on the island. A giant toad learning to read. An ancient skeleton who just wants to swim. A musician from a faraway land hunts for something precious. Everyone has a theory for why you’re here. None of them agree.
The Amphitheater
Your choices change the world. Treat others with kindness and generosity, and a trusted friend will take their seat in your audience. Fail or abuse them, and something darker takes their place. The House fills either way.
Visceral Combat with multiple weapon types
Punchy combat against strange horrors
Full co-op
Play the whole game together. Explore the world, share the spoils, and decide who you will become, because the consequences belong to all of you.
The Tower does not call the whole. It calls the broken, the wanting.
Fill the seats. Start the performance. Find out what is buried at the bottom of the well.

oh yeah this is a masterpiece in progress. i didnt have any crashes or wierd bugs yet. things i didnt notice were: Arrows should be in the weapons tab. we also should be able see the effects ingredients have when making potions and should also have the option to craft multiple potions at a time instead of one. unless im stupid and didnt see. also i dont know if its cuz my sneak is 25 but npcs see me all the damn time. its hard to sneak up to literally anything except sluggy bois. i loved everything else so far. Im Letting it cook for a few weeks tho. then ill come back.

Okay. My initial reaction seeing this in the store was "This doesn't look like it's going to be worthwhile. I'll probably skip it while I wait for other games to come out." I did not at all expect from the first glance at the character creator to enter such a well written and lovingly crafted world. The writing is crazy good and I'm hooked. I am having slight performance issues just enough to where it's noticeable enough to impede gameplay and break immersion. I think the majority of issues people will have with the game are early bugs and performance based issues that can be fixed-- hopefully soon. I like the cat people
My brother asked me to get this game for what he hoped to be a "co-op morrowind-esque" experience... Unfortunately, this game is far from being ready for release. I spent about 70 minutes ingame with him, we got to the hole and started walking through endless corridors with an occasional monster that we easily killed every time, till we got to one enemy that instakilled us both and sent my brother back to the starting spawn, with seemingly no way to get even close to where we got to. The combat left much to be desired. It didn't really feel like you were hitting stuff and stuff hitting you didn't feel like stuff was hitting you. As the guest player in my brother's server, I was permanently rubber-banding in my movement, to the point where it sent me flying off ledges on a few occasions if i was on a narrow ledge. I also got thrown underneath the map once. My PC has decent specs, but I was consistently getting only 60-70FPS. For what the graphics are, that's ridiculous (not complaining about the graphics, I kind of like the style, just that its performance should be much better). At this stage of the game's development, it feels like a free browser game, and I just can't justify $20 on it. I love a nice dose of jank in my games, but this is not the fun kind of jank right now. I hope the devs keep working hard on this game, and maybe one day I will rebuy.
Crashes instantly after the intro cutscene
I like this game, definitely gives some of that Morrowind mystery.
its really fun to play and explore, maybe a bit too easy but overall a good expirience
The game does look pretty fun, especially with friends. i really wanted to try it out but it always crashes on startup, non stop. i got to choose my character the first time i booted it up, but then it crashed and i've had this problem ever since. i can play any game on my pc so idk what the issue is, hope it gets fixed in the next update.
wish morrowind looked and played like that
