About
Lured in by shared nightmares, madmen travel to a remote island crowned by a silent Tower. No one remembers the journey.
The Lantern of the Laughless Saint is an open world RPG built around exploration and connection. You learn the land by walking it, following rumors, reading scraps of burned history, and meeting lost souls who wandered to the ends of the Earth, following the same feverish dream of a light buried beneath the Tower.
Somewhere in the depths is a theater with an empty stage, waiting for an audience. As you repair or ruin the lives of the island's inhabitants, the phantoms they leave behind take their seats in the audience. The more seats you fill, the more the island listens, and the greater the applause for your final act.
And if you don’t want to descend alone, you don’t have to. The entire game is fully playable in co-op: explore the island together, delve into the depths for treasures, and make the choices that will decide the fate of everyone on the island, and beyond...
A wild, ancient island to explore
Follow leads, find shortcuts into the Tower, stumble into side stories, and piece together what is real and what is mere delusion.
Open Ended
Most quests have multiple resolutions. Mercy, violence, compromise, deceit.
A large cast of bizarre characters
Many strange folk find their home on the island. A giant toad learning to read. An ancient skeleton who just wants to swim. A musician from a faraway land hunts for something precious. Everyone has a theory for why you’re here. None of them agree.
The Amphitheater
Your choices change the world. Treat others with kindness and generosity, and a trusted friend will take their seat in your audience. Fail or abuse them, and something darker takes their place. The House fills either way.
Visceral Combat with multiple weapon types
Punchy combat against strange horrors
Full co-op
Play the whole game together. Explore the world, share the spoils, and decide who you will become, because the consequences belong to all of you.
The Tower does not call the whole. It calls the broken, the wanting.
Fill the seats. Start the performance. Find out what is buried at the bottom of the well.

Drank poop water and got more magic
The game is very very fun. I almost have more fun playing this game than Skyrim. Almost. Theres only a few things I wish were cleaned up. I think the hitbox on some enemies (slimes) for arrows is much too small. You'll shoot a slime in the center of its body and your arrow will go straight through. It feels like unless you aim at the tip of the top of the body your arrow will go straight through. I also wish there were more perks, but the perks there are, are fun and some of them are pretty funny so im not going to complain too hard. Also, I dont know if this is a bug or design, but you cant jump in water so it means sometimes youll fall into a pool of water with no way to get out other than to fast travel back to town. Thats pretty annoying.

Sorry not Sorry Todd Howard!!! This game is great, but if you dont like glitches or having to revisit a game or maybe even redoing something you've already done dont get this game. Lantern runs very iffy. Its always maxing out my GPU and sometimes even causing it to overheat and crash my comp. Sometimes it uses more vram than it should and it crashes my game. But at least this isn't skyrim for 900th time. This has all of the same make and feel as a beta to your favorite bethesda game, with one exception: the devs actually released their games and updated it!!! i cant recommend this game enough because it actually came out, its coop, and the devs fix any issue you have aslong as you report it!! You will experience game-play jank, from falling threw stairs/world, to npc's not working right, to enemies being invisible! To me experiencing the jank like when oblivion and skyrim came out with no patchs was such a great time and now i can do it with friends!!! The jank is part of the fun, enjoy it or let it cook it but this game is far from bad. Some would say its just foolish and im fool being played, but ya know what im okay with that here, this fool is in good hands! TLDR: F#%& You Todd Howard!! I recommended this game because it actually came out unlike TES6 Fallout 5 or RAGE 3, IF YOU DONT LIKE JANK dont get this game you will see glitches!!!
Todd Howard could never
Eat your heart out Bethesda, the people have a new buggy champion.
I had always wanted to play Morrowwind but I had felt the game too dated for me to enjoy right out of the box. Not to say I didn't try, but I just didn't enjoy it like I thought I would. Seeing this game made me curious to try something like it again. I'm pleasantly surprised with what I've experienced so far. It's pretty difficult but in an enjoyable way. It's also a bit unpolished but the enjoyable core gameplay is definitely there. I was also pleasantly surprised with the voice acting so far. I hope this game continues to get updates/polish as I really enjoy what I'm seeing so far. I will update my review as I play more of this game.
fun
Please make the discovered map location markers more visible. Other than that the game is great. You actually have to explore and pay attention.
There is clearly already a lot here for open access! The leveling system has a fresh take but not unlike older ES titles. Looks like good support from the devs as well. Try it
