About
Lured in by shared nightmares, madmen travel to a remote island crowned by a silent Tower. No one remembers the journey.
The Lantern of the Laughless Saint is an open world RPG built around exploration and connection. You learn the land by walking it, following rumors, reading scraps of burned history, and meeting lost souls who wandered to the ends of the Earth, following the same feverish dream of a light buried beneath the Tower.
Somewhere in the depths is a theater with an empty stage, waiting for an audience. As you repair or ruin the lives of the island's inhabitants, the phantoms they leave behind take their seats in the audience. The more seats you fill, the more the island listens, and the greater the applause for your final act.
And if you don’t want to descend alone, you don’t have to. The entire game is fully playable in co-op: explore the island together, delve into the depths for treasures, and make the choices that will decide the fate of everyone on the island, and beyond...
A wild, ancient island to explore
Follow leads, find shortcuts into the Tower, stumble into side stories, and piece together what is real and what is mere delusion.
Open Ended
Most quests have multiple resolutions. Mercy, violence, compromise, deceit.
A large cast of bizarre characters
Many strange folk find their home on the island. A giant toad learning to read. An ancient skeleton who just wants to swim. A musician from a faraway land hunts for something precious. Everyone has a theory for why you’re here. None of them agree.
The Amphitheater
Your choices change the world. Treat others with kindness and generosity, and a trusted friend will take their seat in your audience. Fail or abuse them, and something darker takes their place. The House fills either way.
Visceral Combat with multiple weapon types
Punchy combat against strange horrors
Full co-op
Play the whole game together. Explore the world, share the spoils, and decide who you will become, because the consequences belong to all of you.
The Tower does not call the whole. It calls the broken, the wanting.
Fill the seats. Start the performance. Find out what is buried at the bottom of the well.

Phenomenal, played split screen with my wife, it crashed a few times but totally worth it.
Great game!
This game in SINGLEPLAYER is amazing. Todd has some trouble. Multiplayer, I don't know what happened. The other player dies and you get respawned back to the very start and can move. Loot is shared. Like Farcry, if the player could just take their level and loot it might work better. There's more.. players on multiplayer get stuck in the world all the time. If the host loads a save the other player's game just bugs out and they can even go back to the main menu.

UI is pretty rough but Ironically the 3D map is a great touch, extremely high-quality, feels like a modern game, and probably the best implementation of a world map I have ever seen in an rpg. I hope by full release other aspects of the UI rise to that level. Other than that, it feels like I am playing an older elder scrolls game. Exploration is great, combat is fine, and progression is satisfying. Keep up the good work.
I'm only a few hours in and I think they're cooking with this one. It's still Early Access and you can feel it, but the potential also shines pretty brightly. The team clearly had fun making this game and I'm excited for 1.0.
fun
This has been a giant breath of fresh air in the RPG world that honestly we have needed for a long time!! I am absolutely loving the whimsical things I have found and the spells have been a lot of fun as well!! Gonna try multiplayer soon with a friend which I am STOKED to do!!! Keep up the amazing work Holly Fool and everyone working on this game!! Hoping for a second one already and I am still falling in love with this one ahahaha
Really scratches a certain kind of itch that people who enjoyed open world first person RPGs from that past will have. Visually it's got great art style and a good mix of pixelated textures and modern lighting that clicks for me. Combat is simplistic (but there is a dodge) but that's true to form for this style of game. The magic stands out for letting you do cool things like levitate up cliffs (or take a potion and jump hundreds of feet up) and feels freeing. I did encounter some typos and jankiness but nothing gamebreaking in the few hours I've played. Some stairs were real weird moving on and in some areas where you descended (caves, tombs) their would be invisible water at the bottom. It feels more fully baked that a lot of early access titles I've seen. Would recommend for anyone that enjoyed open world RPGs of old and newer folks that can overlook some jank to experience a different kind of feeling to hand holding modern games.
very good it defenity ticks the scrolls like box and i love it
it's straight up a bethesda-like and runs about as well given it's on UE5 with lumen. still, not too bad and co-op was super seamless with no lag whatsoever. i'd give it a shot if you like any of the elder scrolls games and want to buddy up with someone
