About
Lured in by shared nightmares, madmen travel to a remote island crowned by a silent Tower. No one remembers the journey.
The Lantern of the Laughless Saint is an open world RPG built around exploration and connection. You learn the land by walking it, following rumors, reading scraps of burned history, and meeting lost souls who wandered to the ends of the Earth, following the same feverish dream of a light buried beneath the Tower.
Somewhere in the depths is a theater with an empty stage, waiting for an audience. As you repair or ruin the lives of the island's inhabitants, the phantoms they leave behind take their seats in the audience. The more seats you fill, the more the island listens, and the greater the applause for your final act.
And if you don’t want to descend alone, you don’t have to. The entire game is fully playable in co-op: explore the island together, delve into the depths for treasures, and make the choices that will decide the fate of everyone on the island, and beyond...
A wild, ancient island to explore
Follow leads, find shortcuts into the Tower, stumble into side stories, and piece together what is real and what is mere delusion.
Open Ended
Most quests have multiple resolutions. Mercy, violence, compromise, deceit.
A large cast of bizarre characters
Many strange folk find their home on the island. A giant toad learning to read. An ancient skeleton who just wants to swim. A musician from a faraway land hunts for something precious. Everyone has a theory for why you’re here. None of them agree.
The Amphitheater
Your choices change the world. Treat others with kindness and generosity, and a trusted friend will take their seat in your audience. Fail or abuse them, and something darker takes their place. The House fills either way.
Visceral Combat with multiple weapon types
Punchy combat against strange horrors
Full co-op
Play the whole game together. Explore the world, share the spoils, and decide who you will become, because the consequences belong to all of you.
The Tower does not call the whole. It calls the broken, the wanting.
Fill the seats. Start the performance. Find out what is buried at the bottom of the well.

Amazing game. Would highly recommend. Here are my pros and cons as of 8/25/26's Update 11. PROS - Co-op in a Scrolls-like game. The Co-op works very well, but you may encounter a bug from time to time. - Very large map + game doesn't hand you quest markers. You have to explore and read dialogue. - Keeps a lot of the crazy combinations and synergies you'd expect in a Scrolls-like. - Story premise is very cool. - Character building is very rewarding. Perks are very well made. Frequently trade-offs instead of flat upgrades. - Devs are extremely responsive on Discord and update the game very often based on feedback. - Unreal Engine 5 leads to a very stable / crash-resistant experience. CONS - content is still being added to the game and some areas can feel a bit empty for now. - combat functions perfectly fine, but enemy diversity and enemy attacks are a work in progress. You may encounter things like a tall enemy being unable to attack you while you're crouched - or seeing the same cast of 15-20 enemy types across the entire map. - some quest types can be buggy and may require some console commands to complete (particularly quests that rely on interacting with an NPC, alive or dead, to complete).

It seem like a good game at first. Randomly it just went crazy and crashed. Dev is quick to reply to some cry baby about it crashing in the intro which is a easy fix and it tells you to update your drivers before playing IN THE GAME! but the dev still wants to cater to the idiot and hold his hand. But when I ask why when i turn on quest markers in the settings the option disappears and so do all of my unfinished quest. So I get quest again and guess what no quest markers. OH and no reply by the DEV so im leaving it here in the reviews. Besides the random BS early access jank the game might have a future. Right now it is not worth the tag. Let it sit for a while and lets hope this dev keeps trying.
This is a very Early Access title. And it's a pretty fun game! But it's very, very buggy. In fact, its so buggy that it's in a state where you will have to either use the console commands to get around issues AND consult the discord for issues with quests, missing NPCs, items, etc. It's quite literally more broken than older TES titles in my opinion. The game can also get pretty choppy at times due to memory leaks/VRAM usage issues, such that you will have to reset your graphics options or restart the game to fix those issues. It's not well optimized right now. If all that sounds annoying, you might want to wait longer until it's in a stable state, as its very clear there's a lot of work left to be done and a lot of missing content from the looks of it too. That said, the developers have been releasing patches and hotfixes since release almost every 24 hours, just to give you an idea. The good thing is, the community and developers seem very active which means this game is very healthy at the moment. Now it's just a matter of hoping it remains that way for the rest of its development cycle until release. In terms of gameplay, I think one of the bigger disappointments to me is the lack of mobs that aren't humanoids. This is probably because its easier for them to use the same armature than to rig and animate new ones at the moment. Even the crabs are people, crab people. But depending on how you look at it, it can be pretty funny. I do wish the combat was harder and there was bit more depth to this. At the moment, it does feel like it's very easy to break the game in your favor. But that's to be expected from the game at this state in Early Access.
Game is very fun, if you enjoy the elder scrolls games you'll enjoy this elder scrolls lite game. Less hand holding which may be a pro or con depending on your stance, but there are people making videos so you can follow mommy if you desire. There are some bugs but the game is also still very new. If you want a quick way to become busted just focus acrobatics, sprinting, spears, and sorcery. Only grievance I have is sneak and pickpocketing right now is kinda useless as everyone just smells you, and the economy in this game needs some work. Apart from that game is enjoyable just needs more fleshing out. More quests would also be nice. Spell crafting is also very fun. Stability i'd assume is also being worked on as every update the game runs better
