Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 2.71/day in the week to Aug 2 → 2.43/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About
Takumi Sumino is a totally average teenager living in the Tokyo Residential Complex, a place where every day is much like the last and nothing bad ever happens. All that changes when freakish monsters attack the town and start wreaking havoc. A strange creature calling himself Sirei appears and offers Takumi the power to protect those he holds dear... All he has to do is stab himself in the chest!
The next thing he knows, Takumi is in Last Defense Academy, a school in the middle of nowhere surrounded by a wall of otherworldly flames. He and 14 other students have been drafted into the Special Defense Unit, a team tasked with keeping the school safe for the next 100 days. How much are they willing to sacrifice to take back their normal lives and save the world from the grotesque school invaders?
The curtain rises on 100 days of war and despair...
Takumi's choices will decide his future, but there's no telling what kind of consequences these decisions might have...
When the invaders attack, it's up to you to protect the school in SRPG battles.
Use each student's unique Specialist Skills to turn the tide of battle in your favor!
Spend time with your teammates to deepen your bonds, or explore the wilderness and ruins outside the school.
You can even use the items you find to craft gifts and get even closer to your allies!

A masterpiece of storytelling. The choices you make have significant impact. Prepare to spend days enduring the unendurable and suffering the insufferable to pave the way for humanity’s future greatness!
The only thing scarier than the sheer scope of this 22-route, 100-ending story-heavy RPG is that, somehow, it manages to justify having such an ambitious narrative. Every emotion, every surprise, and every character possible is in here. By the time you even hit credits for the first time, you realize you’ve only just scratched the surface.
The tactical combat is interesting and fun. The death-related mechanics incentivize you to play in ways that I doubt any other game does, and it feels very satisfying and rewarding. Unforturnately, 90% of this game is a visual novel with terrible writing. I thought I could enjoy some campy fun with ridiculous characters, but it turns out it's just boring. It's a dozen characters allowing the plot to slowly happen to them while repeatedly yelling at you about their one personality trait. The game assumes you're very stupid, and it's written as if they were getting paid by the word. The travel system feels a bit underwhelming, and I feel like the gifting system is going to end up revolving around playing the game repeatedly rather than paying attention to the characters.
what a mess, so much pointless repetition with so little payoff.

Kind of a weird experience, though maybe just because I am not as big a fan of visual novels in general. The initial playthrough was fine when everything was fresh, but more I played this game to see what branching paths had to offer, the less I felt I was getting out of it. So many of the events are repeated and the ones that aren't it seems like you have to wait forever to progress through to their conclusion. Eventually you can just skip all battles. Also, so many of the stories of alternate branches seem to provide little value. I feel like the "best" "alternative" branches would offer some insight into different events, characters, and the world but these are few and most of them are just kinda ask what if you had to deal with a different weird scenario and a few ways how it could turn out, while offering little to enhance the overall story, if there could be considered to be one past the scenario you are presented with at the beginning. I think I would have liked it better if
there was a Last Defense Academy 3, 4, 5, etc where you retained more memories and sequence of events kept changing in response to you looping instead of only doing so at LDA 2 and as part of the S.F route. I don't think the game needed 100 days or 100 endings.
One of the best games I've ever played. I wasn't sure what to expect but it's my GotY 2025 over Clair and KCD2. It's hard to write a detailed review without major spoilers. The game certainly isn't perfect (I think the 'free time' could use additional activities), but it's an incredible experience that I recommend highly if you have the patience for seeing it through to the end.
