About
Takumi Sumino is a totally average teenager living in the Tokyo Residential Complex, a place where every day is much like the last and nothing bad ever happens. All that changes when freakish monsters attack the town and start wreaking havoc. A strange creature calling himself Sirei appears and offers Takumi the power to protect those he holds dear... All he has to do is stab himself in the chest!
The next thing he knows, Takumi is in Last Defense Academy, a school in the middle of nowhere surrounded by a wall of otherworldly flames. He and 14 other students have been drafted into the Special Defense Unit, a team tasked with keeping the school safe for the next 100 days. How much are they willing to sacrifice to take back their normal lives and save the world from the grotesque school invaders?
The curtain rises on 100 days of war and despair...
Takumi's choices will decide his future, but there's no telling what kind of consequences these decisions might have...
When the invaders attack, it's up to you to protect the school in SRPG battles.
Use each student's unique Specialist Skills to turn the tide of battle in your favor!
Spend time with your teammates to deepen your bonds, or explore the wilderness and ruins outside the school.
You can even use the items you find to craft gifts and get even closer to your allies!

A game that feels like the last hurrah of a genre that is gonna be flooded with gachas and AI-generated content. Not every route is a winner, but even the weakest routes still have something to say about the world of Hundred Line at large, even the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ endings do add up when you look at the entire picture, the game screws with you in a way that I can't think any other game has done, at least to my knowledge, but always leaves you with a sense of drive to finish it all, to reach for your most ideal outcome. Whatever that ending would be, it's up to you, every ending is canon, go nuts. The characters also feel very much like the most suited for how Kodaka writes characters: He's great at making up someone on the spot, but doesn't really build up on them because of the nature of his other games like Danganronpa, making them feel unfulfilled, here they're stuck with them and they have to commit to use them. I am now sad because I got all 100 endings and I want 1000 more, it was like cocaine for me. Favorite routes:
1; 3; 13; 15; 20
Game 4 tha freakzzzz
takumi is like a little cat i want to squeeze the life out of him with my bare hands i love him
im back in the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ building again
Game too short got the ending in like 20 seconds going to request a refund
Last Defense Academy leans very heavy towards the "Novel" side of "Visual Novel". There is a lot of reading in this game compared to the Danganronpa series and Master Detective Archives: Rain Code. It's also a very long game since there are many different routes, each with surprisingly different plots and arcs. I wondered why there wasn't a "skip seen text" option like other visual novels with different routes, but it's because most of the text is unique between routes. Ironically, it's the gameplay elements that have the option to skip. The main gameplay element is a Fire Emblem-like battle system where you defend Last Defense Academy from waves of enemies. The interesting bit is that, when your units get low on health, you can sacrifice the unit (for the remainder of the fight) in order to use a powerful "Last Resort" attack. So unlike in Fire Emblem, where you want to keep your favourite units alive, Last Defense Academy rewards you for throwing caution to the wind and going on an all out attack. The only other gameplay element is an exploration mini-game where you roll dice and move around a board to collect resources. You'll use the resources to make gifts for other characters, which raises your bond with them, and for improving the stats of your units, which makes battles easier. The battles and exploration break up the reading at the start, but eventually you'll just be skipping them and the only thing left will be reading. Thankfully, the story is a page turner. Even when "playing" this game became nothing but reading for 2 hours straight, I was still invested in the story and wanting to "play" it again to find out what happens.
One of my favorite games I’ve played if you’re a fan of Dangenropa i highly recommend it
I dont even know whats happening anymore but i love it.
