About
"The Green Light" is a first person horror game. In The Green Light Fred is stuck in a dead-end job, trapped in a cycle of dissatisfaction. He hates his work, he hates his boss, and his life feels like one long, constant disappointment. But everything changes one late night during his shift. As he drifts through the monotony, a voice on the radio cuts through the silence, offering him something he’s longed for: freedom. The voice tells him that his escape is waiting at a distant lighthouse, a beacon calling out to him from the darkness.
With nothing left to lose, Fred embarks on a journey that forces him to confront the depths of his own mind—and the true cost of freedom.

Another philosophical piece with direct ties to the previous game, "The Black Within". Both games are relative to the desire for improvement of life circumstances, but differ in the choices presented to the protagonists, the paths they choose, and the ultimate outcome of their decisions. Each is a short experience (~1 hr) and well-crafted, particularly the voice acting.
I don't get it. The story doesn't make any sense, and the ending makes me wonder what the 46 minutes or so were all about. That's roughly how long it took me to finish it. So.. The game starts and you're at work, rather unhappy about it even. Some things happen, there's some jump scares and a voice on the radio encourages you to head to the lighthouse where a green light is. The green light is the answer to life's problems, I guess. I don't know, to be clear. It's never really explained in any way that makes sense. The "horror" elements are essentially some dark/moody corridors, unexplained movements, and many jump scare attempts that all fell flat. Perhaps it is because there's no in game acknowledgement of the weird/spooky things you see for the most part. I just assumed this guy was experience a normal Tuesday or something similar. The puzzles are fairly simple, but there are some parts of the game that can be confusing due to the way interaction works. You don't interact with most things, you just get close enough and look the right way to start a weird panning cutscene. An odd choice. Voice acting was good, no complaints there. But man, I've been sitting here trying to figure out if there was anything about the game I really enjoyed. And I'm coming up blank. A walking sim with a disjointed story that never connects the dots, forced camera movements, and lots of very unscary jump scares.
I'm not refunding it since I did play the game in full, my community had a good time chatting about it and I don't want to punish the effort of an indie dev. But at the end of the day, it wasn't a good experience. The game is at its best when ambiently spooky while you complete tasks, and at its worst... The rest of the time. Whether having your movement AND camera locked in place repeatedly for mundane dialogue, getting jumpscared by the same entities over and over at predictable times, finding notes that tell you the answer to a puzzle before you even find the puzzle itself or incoherent obstacles just to pad out the runtime, there isn't much to really grip you here. None of it is thematically coherent during its runtime. The monsters seem designed to be vaguely "scary looking" but don't relate to any of the story presented or notes you read. Some of the notes actually mention entities that don't even show up in the game. At one point I had to approach a mysterious dark blob that threw some dishes around; it was never alluded to prior and never appeared again. There were never really any questions to answer besides "what is the next thing I'm gonna have to deal with to get to this lighthouse?" Fred is upset about his life, has a few bad trips, quits his job and is quite dramatic about it, and that's game.
I bought this after seeing the dev post on Reddit because I figured it'd be nice to support a fellow indie dev. Unfortunately this plays like an extremely rough draft - the story is trope-laden, confused and nonsensical, the game logic is a mess, and it feels very badly designed. I genuinely don't know how this is sitting at Very Positive.
it was ok. wish there was a neutral button. 3/5 stars for me
1. Game restricts movement, when they want to show you jump scare 2. Hard to understand objective 3. Runs worse then tarkov on potato pc 4. Particles were very bad 5. Strange puzzles 6. Feels like asset flipped game Atleast one good thing. 4k grass
Really strange project without a distinct story really. Ending is as vague as it can get. Too many abstractions. The ' quests' i would have never completed without youtube
It's a nice horror game, voice acting, graphic, ambience. Just for the objective might be confusing something.
short walkingsim minimal puzzle game. i enjoyed it at 50% off.
not that good sorry
