devs patched multiplayer out of a multiplayer game. they are stupid and will never get any more of my money.
Discontinued multiplayer. Literally useless
Bought this game for multiplayer. Feature was removed. No avenue to ask for a refund that I can find. Bull pucky.
Bought this for the multiplayer. Now it's gone. They don't want to support multiply fine, but they could have left it in with no future support, at least.
They removed multiplayer after we bought it to play with our friends. I would recommend not buying anything from this company.
I'm so disappointed that they've removed multiplayer. It seems to be rare that you get event cards anymore and I agree with what others have said about the lack of difficulty settings having an impact. My main annoyance is the layout. I can't look at my own cards large enough to read while the bots are having their turn. This is extremely frustrating and slows everything down. Going to have to stick to the physical game (which is great).
They got rid of multiplayer. On a card game. like I'm not usually one for requiring multiplayer in places, but this is a card game. And anytime I start winning now, the bot freezes on its turn, requiring me to close the game and restart. I used to really love this game, even though I mostly played it solo mode, but now it's effectively unplayable.
Used to be a fun game to play with my friends. Come back to find that Multiplayer was removed, making it pointless as this is not a game to be enjoyed alone. Will never purchase anything made by this developer again.
Gloom: Digital Edition is a mobile app that's been dumped on Steam as if it was a real PC game (it's not)... it's a cash grab from greedy mobile devs. This mobile app is an iPhone port of a physical party/card game where the objective of the game is a somewhat dark exercise in murdering your own family, once you've made them miserable. But to make matters worse, it's PvP, so other players will be trying to make your family happy and make their own miserable so they can kill them. I say it's PvP but the developer revoked that functionality on the PC version of the game, presumably out of spite. I can never understand the mentality of mobile app developers apart from petty hatred of PC gamers and greed. Anyway this is a multiplayer game that had multiplayer removed, and I really think that's going to factor into a lot of people's purchasing decisions. From a technical perspective, as a mobile app, this doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. The artwork here is just mediocre hand drawn newspaper cartoon drawings used instead professional looking game assets. It's unclear if this is due to lack of budget to arrange someone who can create graphical assets properly, or lack of talent, regardless, the overall visual quality of the game is extremely low, enough on its own to deter gamers. While there are options to change the resolution for the mobile app, all this does is scale up the simplistic 2D art assets used to make the mobile app, which makes little or no difference to the graphics quality. Without any other substantial graphics tweaks, it's not possible for gamers to improve the lacklustre 2D visuals. The controls can't be customised because the game has such a dumbed down, simplified interface that it's just iPhone screen tapping stuff. The fact that the interface is this dumbed down might be seen as a problem in itself, however... this is a fairly shallow experience if you're the kind of gamer that likes to play games with deep, rich control schemes and interaction. You'll get none of that here. Because this is a mobile app, it carries a number of deliberate design deficiencies. Compromises were made to cater to the iPhones that the mobile app was designed for. These are unfortunate handicaps and limitations that PC gamers shouldn't be forced to accept, but it's evident that PC was an afterthought for the iPhone developers who are to blame for this. The mobile app is deficient as a result of these choices, and would have been so much better without the handicaps that designing games for mobile phones forces upon a game. Once more, mobile devs have made gaming worse for everyone. I didn't spend thousands on building a gaming rig just so I could pretend it's an iPhone. These technical defects push this mobile app below acceptable standards for any modern PC game. Gloom: Digital Edition has the pathetically optimistic price of around $7 USD, it's not worth it given the defects and shortcomings with the product, especially considering the sheer number of completely free, much higher quality games on Steam.
The COMPLETE removal of Multiplayer even LOCAL was a mistake. This was great for trips and visits to friends. Could bring the game and play on a TV together. Now with solo vs AI is a pointless waste. Bait and switch really. Now I own this and its worthless. should have just got an additional real game. Go buy the physical game. Don't waste your money on this unless you have no friends and want to play with yourself.
