The Gallery - Episode 2: Heart of the Emberstone

This game is great. The story is great. The visuals are great and the gameplay. The mechanics are smooth. We’ve all been disappointed many times with glitchy games or the game is great but the mechanics just don’t work right. This game has none of those problems. this is a great game and I highly recommend it.

Positives... Well the movement setup is a little more workable then during the Episode 1 disaster but when this game starts you will spending more time in getting where you want to be then actually playing a game.. What I mean is that you will know what to do and how to solve the puzzle but doing it is only irritation and frustration. Again, like in Episode 1 the presentation/graphics/audio are pretty good but is wasted on a movement setup that will give you controller rage in about 3 minutes. So if you have an valve index. stay clear of this one (and episode 1) until (if ever) they fix this motion setup.

The game looks beautiful and there are some really cool concepts, but I cannot recommend this game as it is very confusing with little help. I don't want to have to stop and read the in-game books as that is really boring. It makes the game hard to enjoy as I frequently got stuck. Also for such a graphically immersive game, I'm not sure why they decided a cartoon looking load screen with intrusive music was a good idea, it really breaks the flow of the game.

This was a very interesting story based exploration game with puzzles along the way. I found the story interesting enough but the main impetus for me to keep moving forward was to see the new areas they came up with and the interesting puzzles associated with them. The one negative of the game to me was your sister's dialogue in the game. It is way too campy and distracts from the overall experience of the game in my opinion. It reads like the cliche, annoying Millennial (full disclosure, I am a Millennial) humor that has been so overdone by every modern day Marvel superhero movie at this point. Storywriters, it is okay for your story to take itself seriously. Not everything needs to have comedic relief in it.

This game has some interesting mechanics, especially for it's time. But overall, has not stood the test of time. The locomotion is severely dated. I got a ways into the game, but reached a time gated puzzle that just didn't seem possible with my hardware. I never got even halfway to putting all the gears in place for the final gear puzzle. I tried over and over again... but just couldn't enjoy the game beyond that point. Overall I think the game should be made free at this point if it has been abandoned to the ages. Until then, save your coin.

Very well made. Great world building and interesting story. Puzzles are relatively straightforward. Worked well on my HP Reverb G2.

This game and story blew me away! Loved every minute of it. Some say The gallery episodes haven't aged well. I disagree. I've played many newer VR titles and this outshines them in many ways in my opinion. Episode one was a little annoying for me with Blink being the only option but wasn't too bad.

Loved it! A VR game with an actual story :) While not the longest game, the originality and in-depth VR experience makes this a must play.
