About

Whirlight – No Time To Trip, an extraordinary point-and-click adventure that pushes the boundaries of imagination.
Hector is weird. His brilliance is matched only by his misfortune, and so his every creation turns out to be a failure. But just when his creative streak seems to have run out, his most amazing idea ever knocks on his door. To finish his new invention, Hector will have to explore the suggestive Verice Bay. However, right on the verge of achieving his goal, more trouble arises: what was supposed to be the solution to all his problems turns out to be a leap into the unknown. Fortunately this leads him to meeting Margaret, a strong and determined artist and a perfect travelling companion. Together they will embark on a series of adventures through space and time, amidst bizarre characters and unlikely situations, until they foil an imminent threat that looms over the entire world.
This epic journey takes place in a universe where humor, fantasy and time travel come together with breathtaking hand-drawn graphics. The game's fun, cartoony atmosphere is reminiscent of classics like "Day of the Tentacle" and "Sam & Max Hit the Road," immersing you in a feat of color, bizarre situations and hilarious dialogue.
A must-play experience for lovers of graphic adventures and for anyone who enjoys unique and unforgettable gaming experiences!

Классический point-and-click квест, вторая игра от разработчиков Willy Morgan and the Curse of Bone Town

Whirlight – No Time To Trip: A Modern Point & Click Epic
Whirlight – No Time To Trip is one of the most impressive modern point-and-click adventures I have played in years. And I don't say that lightly. As someone who grew up with Monkey Island, Simon the Sorcerer, The Feeble Files, Broken Sword and countless other classics, I can honestly say that Whirlight captures the spirit of the golden age of adventures while still feeling modern and fresh. First things first: this is a real adventure. No simplified puzzles. No hand-holding. No endless cutscenes pretending to be gameplay. This game trusts the player. What makes Whirlight so special:
* Excellent puzzle design with a perfectly balanced difficulty curve * A fantastic time-travel story full of surprises * Gorgeous visuals packed with detail and personality * Outstanding music that constantly adapts to the locations and atmosphere * Huge variety of locations, eras and puzzle mechanics * Great humor that never feels forced * Clever references to classic adventures without becoming a copy * Two memorable protagonists with excellent chemistry * An incredible amount of content
The game starts relatively simple and gradually introduces more mechanics, locations and challenges. Then it keeps growing. And growing. And growing. Just when you think you have seen everything, Whirlight introduces another era, another twist, another gameplay mechanic or another brilliant puzzle chain. Time travel is not just a story gimmick here. It becomes a core gameplay mechanic. Later in the game you travel between multiple locations across different periods of time, solve puzzles across eras, switch between characters, exchange inventory items and combine clues from completely different points in history. And somehow it all works. The puzzle design deserves special praise. Most of the game sits comfortably in the medium difficulty range, but there are also several genuinely challenging puzzles that had me thinking for one or even two hours before finally figuring them out. The important thing is: The game rarely feels unfair. When the solution finally clicks, the reaction is usually: "Of course!" not "How was I supposed to know that?" That is the mark of great adventure design. The story is equally strong. What begins as the tale of Hector May, an eccentric physicist from the 1960s who accidentally invents a time machine, slowly evolves into a much larger adventure involving time paradoxes, strange discoveries, multiple eras and ultimately the fate of the entire world. Despite all the crazy ideas, the story remains surprisingly easy to follow and highly entertaining from start to finish. And the length? I finished the game after more than 40 hours without using hints or walkthroughs. More than 40 hours. For a modern point-and-click adventure, that is extraordinary. Yet it never felt artificially stretched. The game simply has that much content. Final Verdict Whirlight – No Time To Trip is one of the strongest modern point-and-click adventures I have played in a very long time. Fantastic puzzles. Fantastic music. Fantastic atmosphere. Fantastic length. Fantastic humor. If you are an adventure fan, this is an absolute must-play. And if you grew up with LucasArts, Adventure Soft or the classic point-and-click adventures of the 90s, you owe it to yourself to play this game. A true modern adventure masterpiece.
Was going to say I got this game for free, but I'd already bought it as soon as it was released 😉 It was totally worth it though, and aside from a few drawbacks am pretty sure Whirlight will be on my GOTY list this year 🌟 The game's biggest strength I think is the gorgeous artwork and story that spans multiple locations and time periods. That's right, you get to travel through time in this game on a motorbike fuelled by liquid light, no Delorean or flux capacitor needed 😄 You also get to switch between the two characters of Hector and Margaret and swap items, which adds another dimension to puzzle solving and interaction. There's a lot of light-hearted humor in there and even some really touching moments like the whole romance plot between Harold and Hilary 🥰 There's also plenty of save slots which is always welcome, I made full use of them! So I mentioned drawbacks and I do have a few...Firstly I feel like the game (as epic as it is) is just way too long and drags in certain places especially towards the end where I felt like it should wrapup but just kept going...Also there's a lot of backtracking through the same locations at different times of day and time periods, which after a while gets tedious...And lastly some of the puzzles are a bit obtuse and sometimes feel like the same old fetch questy stuff, you know the classic "I'll do a favor for you if you do one for me" deal 😉 Despite these drawbacks though I definitely recommend Whirlight so go ahead and give it a whirl! Get it, cause whirl as in Whirlight...well I thought it was funny anyway 😆
I just finished playing Whirlight: No Time to Trip. Hector, an inventor from the 1960s, invents a method of liquefying light, allowing time travel. He travels to the 1990s, where he meets Margaret, a young artist. Together they embark on a long and whirlwind journey through different eras… Whirlight is a classic point-and-click adventure game. I quite liked playing the developers' previous adventure, Willy Morgan and the Curse of Bone Town. However, Whirlight surpasses it in every respect – I'm truly enchanted with it. Above all, the quality and scope of this latest production are striking. It took me over 30 hours to complete the game. It's rare to find such long and complex adventure games. The player will encounter many different types of puzzles – classic inventory puzzles, dialogue puzzles, and other types of challenges. The game sometimes allows you to control both main characters simultaneously, which adds even more variety to the gameplay. The game features very attractive pre-rendered 3D graphics. The locations are meticulously crafted – colorful and detailed. The carefully crafted animations of various characters and environments are also worth praising. The gameplay is accompanied by catchy music and professionally voiced dialogue (I played in English, but several other languages are also available). Whiirlight is an incredibly polished and expansive game. The wacky plot has many twists. A lot of heart has been put into the game – it's clear that the developers have a great passion for the adventure genre. I had a great time and wholeheartedly recommend Whirlight to any fan of adventure games! MY RATING: 9/10
★★★★★ I absolutely loved WHIRLIGHT NOTIME TO TRIP! I played this on my Steam Deck there were no bugs and the controls worked perfectly, but I will say it is pretty hard to customize the controls if needed. The graphics were beautifully done, and the bright colors reminded me of the game Candyland. The game was just as stunning during the nighttime scenes, creating a wonderful atmosphere throughout the adventure. The voice acting was also pretty good. Every actor did a fantastic job and really brought the characters to life, though I would have liked to see less repetitive comments and some more snarky comments here and there which I think would have helped connect the characters more. However, my favorite part of the game was the story. At first, I wasn’t quite sure where the plot was headed during the first chapter, but once Margaret was introduced, everything became much more interesting. From that point on, I was completely invested and eager to see what would happen next. Overall, this was a charming and memorable experience with gorgeous visuals, excellent voice acting, and a captivating story. I highly recommend WHIRLIGHT NO TIME TO TRIP and happily give it five stars!
I wanted to like this game, but I ended up being frustrated almost the entire time. I saw multiple reviews of people quitting almost immediately, but an equal amount of people giving positive reviews telling how "it gets better later". tldr - no it doesn't. The biggest problem is the puzzles (youknow... the thing that makes this genre what it is?). They're rarely based on logic and mostly come down to trying every inventory item on every object until something finally works. The game almost never gives you enough context to figure things out naturally. A good point and click adventure nudges you in the right direction through dialogue, character comments, or environmental storytelling. Here, you're mostly left wandering between locations, clicking on everything, and hoping you've missed the one interaction that lets you continue. Instead of feeling clever when you solve a puzzle, it feels like you finally stumbled into the correct answer. NOT ONCE did any of the puzzles make me go "Ahaaa!" But the majority of them did make me go "Unnghh...". The story doesn't help either. You're thrown into the middle of this scientist's bizarre world with almost no background or explanation, and it never really comes together in a satisfying way. The voice acting is mostly good, but Hector was a constant distraction. He sounds like Robert F. Kennedy Jr., as if he's struggling to get every sentence out, and after a while it became hard to ignore. Visually, the game looks nice. The environments are detailed and well done, although the playable characters often look blurrier and lower resolution than the backgrounds. I really can't recommend this to fans of point and click adventures. You'll probably either give up during the first chapter because of the endless random clicking and backtracking, or you'll spend most of the game with a walkthrough open. Neither option makes for a satisfying adventure.
After all these years finally played a solid Point & Click adventure. Thank to DEVs all those little remembers from past legendary games from this genre. Some times I stop to play and dream all those moments from past. Thank you :) I hope you continue to create this kind of games.
This has got to be one the most boring and convoluted point and click games I have ever played. The demo was ok and that led me to purchase the full version believing that it would get better. However, that was not the case at all. Once you reach the city in the full version, this game becomes a tediously dull experience in my opinion. The city is a massive maze and there is no map that allows you to quickly traverse to the different destinations. There is also NO hint system at all and the diary is a worthless book of only pictures that I never found helpful. This means you will most likely be consulting a walkthrough over and over again like I had to do. In the city, you are required to pick up a TON of items that you have no idea where to use them unless you spend an inordinate amount of time using every item on everything and everyone. It also seems like a large majority of the inventory items need to be used in places you would never think of unless you were constantly consulting a walkthrough. For example, I quit playing after having to figure out that I needed to go to the top of a building to turn a valve to release water on a dog below in order for him to drop a collar. Then I needed to know to use that collar on a character near the beginning of the game that I had no idea would have any interest in that item unless of course I was consulting a walkthrough. Other issues with this game are that the frame rate drops when loading new areas, there is no controller support, and the characters and settings are not very interesting in my opinion. I'm sorry but without a proper hint system I just found this game too convoluted and overall uninteresting. I therefore cannot recommend it.
Whirlight - No Time to Trip is a heartfelt tribute to classic point-and-click adventures. Set in the fictional town of Verice Bay, the game is full of charm and has a handcrafted feel that comes through in every area. The environments are packed with detail and, together with the cast of characters, create a colorful and unique style. The first part of the game moves at a slower pace, which works well for taking in the cozy atmosphere and getting immersed in the setting. One of the game's strongest points is its humor. It's quirky and absurd, with several genuinely laugh-out-loud moments. While the overall quality of the voice acting has a few ups and downs, both protagonists are very well portrayed. Margaret is great, while Hector in particular completely carries every scene with his weird and over-the-top personality. As with any respectable point-and-click adventure, there are a few confusing moments where you'll find yourself stuck and searching every corner of the screen for that missing clue or item. For genre veterans, that's all part of the experience. The game is also packed with enjoyable easter eggs and cameos to movies, comics, video games, and meme culture. Overall, if you're looking for a fun indie adventure with a lot of charm and humor, I'd definitely recommend giving this one a try.
