Excellent adaptation of the card game!

A great quick take tricking game with special powers for certain cards. A nice break from deck builders.

Mechanics-wise, gameplay is solid. The art and animations are very nice. The UI / interface is so bothersome it kills the whole experience. [list] [*]You can't control the game with anything except for a mouse. It feels like they just ported their mobile app, maybe changed a word in the tutorial, and called it a day. It's weird that if you want to play with a controller or steam deck you can't use arrow keys, joystick, or direction pad. It makes playing the game feel clunky on the steam deck. [*]When playing cards you can't simply "double click" to play them. You have to manually drag them over to their spot in the playing field. Again, makes it feel clunky and screams that this was ported from the mobile app with no desktop optimizations. [*]Manually dragging the cards wouldn't be such a negative except there's a camera move that's [i]locked to your mouse motion[/i] It might be subtle if you're playing on a phone or tablet, but it's exaggerated to the point of annoyance when playing with a mouse. Every time you move your mouse to select a card, the camera move draws your eyes away from what your doing. Every time you drag a card into play the playing field moves underneath you. [i]There is no option to turn this off.[/i] I can see this making me sick if I were to play for longer sessions. [*]Whenever your mouse cursor rests upon a card it "zooms in" on that card and shows the card art large and center-screen. Again, on mobile you don't have a cursor so it's probably not an issue. Every time my cursor rests on a card (whether it be in my hand or the field), even when animations are happening and the game is determining who is winning a trick, the card art pops up and [i]covers up information[/i]. This could be addressed by having information show up with right click, or just not at all while the turn is resolving. [*]No pass and play. If I want to play locally I have to agree to a EULA and play online. It felt weird that I had to agree to a EULA just to launch what I assumed to be a single-player game. I'm not making yet another online account with another service to play multiplayer. Add in pass and play and we can play in person (or use steam remote play) and not have to depend on another service that may inevitably shut down in the future. [/list] Even if I'm just playing against the CPU with challenges... the lack of "double click" to play cards and the constantly moving camera make playing this just uncomfortable. Until then... maybe play the physical game instead.

Wonderful little game. I am yet to play a Dire Wolf game that is not excellent - they are crushing it every time!

Simple filler type game that has quite a bit of Strategy behind it. Makes me keep coming back for one more try.

Awesome implementation of the two player trick taking game, now playable solo thanks to the AI. Online support works, its great. For those who prefer an offline experience, the AI is very challenging, and the offline challenges/scenarios offer enough fun for several hours. Highly recommend.
