About

Scavenge and fight for your next day alive under the shadow of gargantuan war machines. Enemies in the game can literally tower over the battlefield. To put it another way:

The battlefield is unpredictable thanks to The Forever Winter’s Dynamic Encounter system: enemies have their own goals and agendas, operating in coordinated groups, undertaking full-scale battles — and they’ll intelligently react to your actions. The battlefield you leave won’t be the same one you return to.
Use your wits, stealth, and skilled gunplay to make it out alive. Choose your path in the shadow of the two great superpowers, loot the dead, and make it out alive. While the warring factions may ignore you at first, the more disruptive you become to their goals, the more they'll seek to remove you from the equation.
Ecological collapse compounded by runaway technological advancement brought us here: a dystopian world choked by 40 years of industrial-scale violence between two military superpowers, AI automata, cybernetically enhanced soldiers, human-machine hybrids, and relentless automated warfare. There's two sides to this war, and you're not on either.

Great concept but not so good execution. Enemy movement is clunky and very lackluster, they also sometimes go around a set path mindlessly and just shoot whatever might get in their way. The big mechs for example, really cool and all but all interest is taken when their torsos keep snapping and trying to look at all sorts of places at once and overall just feel like they dont weight anything with all the spinning and turning. These all really kill the immersion really easy, gunplay is kind of meh and inventory needs to be more clear, It's irritating to have to put your mouse on an item in your backpack/rig (idk) to even know what it is, not just for the name, because I can barely even make out what it is! Theres so much unused spacearound the usable inventory, even though my backpack isnt too big, why not make it sized up to the unused area so I might even be able to see my items better. Same problem also with player movement, kind of the same feeling lackluster movement as the enemies. Playing the tutorial sucked since I had to try and find the quest seperately what the hell did I need to do, instead of it hovering on the screen or even showed that I did a part of the quest correctly! I really wanted to like this game but it needs improving, alot.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 22 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,513 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

If anyone reads this: don't buy this game I just can't anymore. I bought this game last year and believed it would be amazing, I was lied to. The Forever winter has been in a constant state of early access but it's not improving. Every change and update made by fundog has been a constant fix one thing while breaking something else. I would not write this review if the devs screwed up the balancing so horrifically to be outwardly hostile to the player base from newbies to veterans alike.
This game has gotten so much better over this year, lots of QOL updates and changes, runs smooth with only a few reoccurring bugs but nothing game breaking, I hope they keep going in this direction, the new areas have been crazy
It definitely needs a lot of work and might be worth waiting for. As of now the updates are very consisted containing fixes and new content(while also breaking the game). I'm quite optimistic that it will turn out to be something.
A stealth shooter that doubles as a wallpaper generator. Come for the cinema, stay for the journey Scav.
40h in... I know it is work in progress but i had no error, bugs etc. THE WORLD IS GREAT!! If Beksinki's paintings, cyberpunk (genre not pc/console game), anime mechs, postapo and maybe some horrors had gangbang this would be their "child world'..I'M TOTALLY HOOKED --> fingers crossed!
