It is amazing! a little harder than some I've played, but I love it.
This is a very tentative recommendation, as while I enjoyed it, there are a couple things that are almost required to do so. First of all, cursor hints are basically mandatory, so turn those on immediately. Also, and I really don't care if this seems like a cop-out, MAXIMIZE YOUR BRIGHTNESS SETTINGS (turning up gamma helps too). The environments are so dang dark that it becomes really hard to enjoy otherwise in many places. Once I could actually see everything I was mostly fine. There are a few bonkers puzzles that are annoying to solve (some of the password puzzles are a bit ridiculous). Though I didn't have too much trouble with any of the sliding puzzles (yes, including that stupid concentric rings one, which took me about ten minutes), I can absolutely see why many hated those, so YMMV (the critical path ones are skippable though, which is nice).
Enjoyable. Solid game. Most puzzles were logical, and not too obscure, and had a good sense of progression. My biggest gripe, though not a large one is there is a fair bit of "hidden object" type searching which isn't my favorite. Most of the time it's fine, but sometimes (and given your perspective allows for 360 degree panning), it can be quite difficult to find all items from a POV. As an example, having the sliver of a corner of a book being your only hotspot in a sea of books... even with cursor hints on, many times these require a guide to locate.
I found this really difficult to get into.I found it a real slow starter and after chapter 2, I've decided it's not for me (I might return to it, but unsure). The game felt a little laggy and not as smooth. Game play was fine, but some of the tasks are far from obvious, and whilst i love a challenge, some of these I wouldnt have known (I did have to refer to the walkthrough). For some this is a great play, but for me not so much.
This game is well worth the money. I highly recommend this this title. You won't be done in a few hours. With seasonal additions for Halloween and Christmas it's like 3 games for one price.
While the visuals are great in this game, the puzzles are pretty much useless. Most are redundant. If you have to keep going to Youtube to understand what they were thinking for EVERY puzzle, I don't want to play that kind of game. Stick to The Room series or The House of Davinci. At least they make sense.
