I recently seen that the reviews for this game have dipped into mixed so I decided to add my own opinion. This game is great and you will get a lot of hours out of it. I know some people have a problem with slow progression, but I didn't have any problems. I might have had moments of being almost broke, but that was mainly due to over stocking. The game does have small updates , however, they are frequent enough to know that the dev is still working on the game. Lastly there was a horrible bug that I hated enough to comment on the forms; not only did the dev respond to my message, but the bug was also addressed in the next update that was released. That is a win in my book, because I LOVED the game beforehand. Overall 100% recommend if you enjoy simulator games!
If you like simulator games, this game is fun. The dev is active in making it better. My only complaint is assigning jobs to employees can be confusing. For example, stock and placement are two different jobs. One stocks shelves for customers. The other stocks the warehouse shelves for the employee that stocks the shelves. The crypto market is a waste of money so don't waste your time with it. Otherwise, worth getting when on sale.
Man I really love simulation games and I was really looking forward to this one. Unfortunately, it is plagued with bugs, confusing mechanics, and really weird walking animations. Customers walk into each other (it almost looks like they are shoving each other around sometimes). But worse than that... I placed some shelves and after expanding and deciding to reorganize my layout, I can't move the shelves! I've tried every button and it seems like they're just there permanently now. Nothing pops up when you point at a shelf with any indicators or idea on moving/packing the shelf so you can place it somewhere else. So you end up with a mess when you start to expand the store. This is a huge negative for this type of game - where part of the fun is being able to fully customize your own layout, shelf placing, etc.. Customers are SUPER impatient. If you take longer than a few seconds to get to them you get a crap review. The start of the game is brutal because the customers expect EVERYTHING to be in stock when you don't even have access to a lot of games yet. Also, getting from level 0 to level 1 takes FOREVER. Apparently, this is a bug that has been there since release and has still not been fixed as of the time I am posting this. And sadly, most of the good stuff you can't access until at least level 1 - disappointing. Building up any kind of income is a real grind. I don't usually mind a little grind in the beginning, but the way this game is setup, it turns into a constant back and forth between buying used games, fixing them, making very little on those, then starting over the next day. So you spend most of your first hours in the game in that circular grind. It takes several days to come up with enough money to restock the same crap games and also managed to have enough to order a disc repair machine. Without that, most of the used games you pick up for cheap end up in a pile on the floor because you can't sell them if they're scratched. I've only spent a little less than 2 hours in this game but I've seen enough to know that it simply isn't ready to be out yet, even for early access. What a terrible disappointment too because if they would fix these issues, it has the potential to be a really good sim game.
While I do recommend the game. When I saved my play, The next day when i booted it up, My special edition games that i didn't put on a shelf did not save and de-spawned, which is kinda, really lame....... Make sure to display items you want saved and are keeping or it will de-spawn like in my case............. Also the new black jack update, these numbers are soooo wrong???? it does not show the correct number to the cards, Sometimes it shows Jacks as 1-11, I literally got a 21 blackjack with a king and an 8, like what? Also, If i get a 21 Blackjack i should win not even money but 1.5x so for a 200 bet, Dealt blackjack I should receive 500 back not 400. Also, even though its in the favor of the player, When you double down, it only takes half your bet to put up but still rewards a the full double up if you win, meaning, i bet 200, i double down it only takes 100 extra and if i win i receive 800. Fix your bugs developers Edit 04/10/2026: They fixed Blackjack bugs yay, also could you add the split feature to black jack and the option to play multiple hands? that would be cool. Thanks for commenting and fixing, I appreciate you a lot for taking the time to do so!
Console Shop Simulator is easily a five-star experience, offering an incredible amount of content for an Early Access title that truly captures the heart of retro electronics. I’ve already clocked a 10-hour session and secured the top spot on the leaderboard with $31 million—dwarfing second place’s $3.2 million—largely by leveraging the crypto market. While flipping Dobe coin and Lance is currently a bit overpowered, it’s an essential strategy for funding your shop early, whereas Pump and Tirt usually don’t offer enough movement to be worth the investment. To take the game to the next level, I’d love to see the modding support continue to grow alongside some vital quality-of-life tweaks; specifically, updating the controls so left-clicking opens boxes and right-clicking extracts items would be much less tedious than spamming the "F" key for CDs. As a huge hoarder, I also hope for a bulk-opening feature for cases to grow my inventory rapidly, a higher employee cap than 9 for level 18 shops, and an expanded max warehouse. Adding a dedicated console-only trade table and an "auto-stock" purchase option for a 20-30% fee would streamline the late-game perfectly. If you’re just starting, prioritize the arcade as soon as possible—mine pulls in $131k a day—and never forget to keep your stream live! im not about to add alot of mods so wish me luck!!!
Completionist Review: Very fun game with Steam Workshop access allowing easy mod implementation - Vast array of video games, systems, accessories. Allows automation via employees and has a secondary building to unlock and place machines in. Fixed price system, was pretty hit and miss for me on pricing but seems like Online Store may fix that. Fully customization of the secondary building and store. Started to get a little laggy at the end with half expanded shop, arcade and fully expanded warehouse. Overall - 9/10
