Well, it's more of a "meh..." but there isn't an option for that. It desperately wants to be Portal, but it's miles and miles away. The problem isn't the story, even though it's a tonally inconsistent knockoff. The real issues are: Puzzles that rarely make you think. Annoying action sequences where you often have to die a few times just to learn the exact sequence of actions you're supposed to take. Mechanics that aren't polished enough, forcing me to replay the same puzzle multiple times even though I already knew the solution. Graphics is very nice. Sound is fine. If you get it with a discount it's fine to pass a few evenings.

Its the BEST game ever! I enjoyed every SECOND of it. The puzzles aren't that hard, but the story is good.

In the realm of Portal-like, room-based puzzle adventures, I'd say The Entropy Centre reaches about seven-tenths of the way to Portal 2. The basic premise is trying to avoid the Earth exploding by way of solving puzzles. The puzzle solving itself is diegetically helping save the Earth. An odd premise, but it mostly makes sense within the world's logic. The main tool is a gun that rewinds objects to previous states, be that state moved, falling, rising, or even crumpled or expanded. The writing feels quirky and a bit random = funny at times, so I didn't really care for it, but that doesn't actually matter because the puzzles are terrific. Rewinding and progressing objects in physical space and learning to think in reverse has been done before, but not as well or consistently as this. The puzzles rarely felt unfair* and when I discovered a sequence break or a cheat, I wasn't arbitrarily punished for it. Rather, it felt satisfying both to solve and to outthink the puzzles. If you've already done all the Portals and The Talos Principles and... I dunno... Braid... then buy this. It likely won't constitute a massive challenge, but there's a lot of puzzle for the already meagre asking price, and I had a lot of fun with it. Footnote: (extremely minor spoilers.) *The least fair puzzles involved either... A: Accurate jumping on movable boxes, which lacks the tightness that a game like this demands. Also includes a dreadful hop, skip, triple jump, which took me so many attempts that I had to check if I'd found a convincing but wrong solution. B: Respawning enemies, though these are extremely rare and are meant as speedy parkour gauntlets, not as puzzles you're meant to stand around and solve. C: Extremely long puzzle chains with a twist at the end that demands you go back to the beginning.
